Age matters! Parson’s traded to GB for 2 first.

I think we could’ve got at least 1 first for Watt.

Green Bay is paying Parsons 4/$188 Mill with 163 guaranteed. That’s crazy money but GB already has their QB.

I would’ve put this in the Watt thread but the site is slow as hell and I didn’t have the patience to find what page it was on.

I wouldn't be surprised if we could get a 1st from a good team for Watt.

But I think most of us would have been disappointed with that as the return.

And the team was never going to signal the tank by trading the face of the franchise.

Have a group chat where one of the guys is a Cowboys fan. I opened up by taking my shot. I figured they unloaded him. I messaged once I saw what they got back that this was a good deal under the circumstances. I'd rather have him but if you're going to trade him, they did very well.

I wonder if Dallas would have traded him straight up for TJ. 2 First round picks that's a bit much. Too much guaranteed money. Hopefully this won't be the defensive equivalent of the Cleveland deal for Watson.

Hasn't he been hurt during a season.

It's 136M$ guaranteed not 163M$. That's still a lot but not 163. I wonder where that stands on the list of most guaranteed?

We wouldn't have given a guarantee like that.

Jones may be an old fart who meddles too much but he did point out how they were run all over in the playoffs the last few years.

I believe in the last 2 playoff games Dallas gave up 425 yards on the ground and Parsons had zero sacks.

Does that sound familiar? Hell.. we gave up almost 400 vs the Rats last year.

Packers acquire DE/OLB Micah Parsons from Cowboys for two first-round picks, NT Kenny Clark

About 30 years ago, the Packers landed the best pass rusher in the NFL in free agency. His name was Reggie White, and he helped Brett Favre win a Super Bowl. History is a bit different this time, with Micah Parsons being acquired via a trade, but Green Bay has obtained arguably the best pass rusher in the league to help get “No Cookie” Jordan Love over the top. The Packers will be moving into Group A in my NFL Power Rankings.

This is a tremendous trade for the Packers, who automatically become one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. Their pass rush was mediocre last year, and it was something they didn’t really address this offseason. That has clearly changed with Parsons, who is not only a dynamic player; he’s also just 26. Parsons’ best football could still be ahead of him. Two first-round picks and Kenny Clark, a 30-year-old nose tackle coming off a down season, is small price to pay for one of the best players in the NFL.

Conversely, the Cowboys have made yet another terrible blunder under Jerry Jones. This trade is a confusing one, as Jones’ age dictates that he should have an all-in approach. Instead, he hired one of the worst offensive coordinators in recent NFL history to be his head coach and then traded away a young, elite defensive player for two first-round picks and Clark. As mentioned, Clark is no longer the force he once was, while the two picks will be in the 20s, or perhaps even the early 30s.

              Grade for Packers – A+
              Grade for Cowboys – F
