Pre-season game #2 is upon us.

Issues and watches.

But first the following players are out.

The running game. Johnson must show something. Johsnon was unsure of himself and did not show the needed burst in his pre-season debut. I do not know who our 3rd string RB is but that New Hampshire kid showed something in the last game.


With Muth out, start Washington and watch what he does for the running and passing game.

With Austin's mysterious injury, Wilson can grab the bull by the horns to secure his grip on the other starting wide receiver poison.

I am high on both men.


Rudolph will play a lot. He is going to be the man sometime this season. He was 3-0 the last time he played with us. He is the perfect bridge QB until the 2026 draft! A top 14-24 type of passing QB, I think.

We should run the 2 TE set more but I won't hold my breath.

Will our #1 draft pick do anything this game? Y Balck who impressed the heck our of me in pre-season game 1 is 50/50 to play.

The players say our facilities at Pittsburgh suck. They do. I would upgrade our hot tub tomorrow because by the look of it, guys will be spending a lot of time in it.

We have too many fragile players.

They started Washington in the last preseason game and everyone is complaining about the running game. Joel I hate to break it too you, but the guys not playing are the guys who you are going to see get most of the snaps come September. Kaleb Johnson they are trying to get him used to the speed and physicality of a real game, but he is going to be in more of a rotational role, especially for this season. The coaches are looking for their roster depth, there isnt some scenario where Mason Rudolph has two more good preseason showings and then starts the season over Rodgers.

We all know what Big 80 can do. Would I have him play one series? Yeah then it's time to see if Galbreath or Foelsch can play. They are outside looking in to our current top 4 TE"s but can they be on the PS? They both have been up n down at camp. Galbreath imho the better of the 2 but both may be good enough for the PS.
I'm not sure what your point is with we should run 12 personnel more. More than what?
Rudolph should not play a lot. We'll have 2nd tier OL in there a bunch and he can play and is clearly our #2 at this point. MR is only playing if it was a showcase situation which it is not. Thompson will get the lions share of the reps.

Our rookie DT's need reps. How many they get idk. They have had mostly positive reviews and there is going to be a learning curve. With the edge pressure we have going what really looks like it's 4 deep now if we can get some physical play out of the big 4 inside we'll be in every game or almost every game.
Roman Wilson should get a bunch of reps. So should guys like Roc Taylor and Brandon Johnson. I'm not so sure Woods and Miller have a lock on
the 53. WR #4 and 5 need to contribute on special teams so watching those punts and kicks tonight will go a long way in knowing who will be player 51,52 and 53 on the roster.
