Schefter: Steelers K Chris Boswell ‘privately’ seeking new contract
The All-Pro kicker wants to be paid like one.

Around an hour after his report that Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward is looking for a raise from the Steelers, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter posted that Heyward’s teammate, kicker Chris Boswell, is also hoping for more money.
Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday that Boswell “has been seeking a new contract” privately.
As Schefter accurately points out, Boswell was the AFC North’s lowest-paid kicker in 2024 in terms of average per year. With Justin Tucker out of Baltimore, Boswell is now slated to be the third-highest paid.
However, Boswell was arguably the best kicker in the entire league last season, earning a spot on the AP first-team All-Pro team following a season when he made 41/44 field goals and 100% of his extra point attempts.
Schefter’s report did not hint at any expected contract drama between the two sides. Per Spotrac, the Steelers currently have over $35 million in cap space.
