    Steelers sign safety Chuck Clark

    Josh Carney
    @ByJoshCarney

    Chuck Clark is a good signing at this point in the summer for the #Steelers.

    Tons of experience. Can play in the box, deep safety and slot snaps.

    1,750 snaps on the box, 1,871 snaps at FS, and 672 snaps in the slot in his career.

    Versatile.... but not great at any one thing. Hopefully doesn't see the field much.

    What a Raven's fan thinks:

    Lmao the Washedburgh Ravens - that’s their new name, they’re literally signing every Ravens castoff. I’m fully expecting them to sign Marcus Williams within a week.

      If he could do all those things well he would not have been available. SteelersDepot is starting to look more like Steelers.com lately.

      Clark is 30, played 12 games last year after missing 2023 with an ACL. Low risk move, but this team is counting on a lot of guys who are older and haven’t stayed healthy lately.

        Depth signing. Signals that they're counting on Thornhill to be the starter at FS
        Hope Thornhill has a rebound year, shows he's up to the task -- otherwise, that'll be a weak spot that our opponents will certainly exploit
        Was hoping we'd pick up another starting-level FS, but should have known we wouldn't

          Was a good safety. Missed a year with ACL, want good the first year back (which is typical unless you're name is Adrian Peterson) and is now 30. Like many recent signings, of he can hold on and get back to pre-injury then good deal. Of not then low risk, no big deal.

            I don't think we're really "counting on" him. He'll be the 3rd safety. Which might get less playing time than most years depending on how we use Ramsey.
