Draft week- what I want and what I don't want.

Regarding what I want for this years draft:
At least one trade back to pick up an additional day 2 pick. Having no 2nd rounder hurts however if we pick up an additional late 3rd that will surely help. Now IF we are going qb at 21 that would change things. DL with a later 1st rounder or a freak like Emmonwari who can be a great box S who can help us stop the run. Draft is super deep at DL so we could still double down on DL. I want us to get 2 run stuffers. Black n Watson for example would be a nice combo.
There are backs to be had in this draft on day 3. Tuten, Giddens (like these 2 guys) and others Blue for example who would help. Speed backs.
What I don't want to happen:
I believe we'll receive 3 comp picks in next years draft. That means we could have 10 picks in 26. Now IF we don't get our future Qb this year I don't want 26 draft picks to be traded away to fill some hole so we can go 9-8 or 10-7 this year. We'll need all the ammo we can accumulate to move to the top of the 26 draft to finally get our future Qb.
Draft week is always a good week. In Khan I trust.

I agree with everything you said.

Would still prefer the DL stud in Round 1 however.

I agree with most of this as well. However, I also want to see DL with our first pick - preferably Grant. Go get a DE like Broughton or Roberts later in the draft to complete the DL double-dip. Add a CB and one of the speed backs like Tuten, Harvey, or Sampson, and a later-round OT. I also wouldn't mind a late round WR. My ideal draft would be something like this:
Round 1 - NT Kenneth Grant
      Round 3 - CB Azareye'h Thomas
Round 4 - RB Bhayshul Tuten
Round 5 - DE Vernon Broughton
Round 6 - OT Logan Brown
Round 7 - WR Isaac TeSlaa

If the team somehow were to recoup a day two pick, I wouldn't mind seeing a QB like Will Howard inserted into that mix. If the right safety is available, then I wouldn't mind that either.

All I know is I don’t want Dart. Folks have Sanders dropping to us and I would gladly take him but I don’t think he drops past New Orleans at 9 (I think).

I want.. in no particular order DL, RB, Guard, OLB, safety and strange enough, I want a QB (Ewers) as a late rounder if available. I think he is the type of QB who could surprise folks.

Grant is exactly the type of player we need up front.

Thought this guy was maybe worth a late pick or UDFA to plug the middle of the DL.

            Guess not.....
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Desmond Watson has been placed on the non-football illness list to begin training camp as the rookie looks to hit an undisclosed weight goal set by the team. In other words, he can’t practice until he loses weight.

Instead of practicing with the rest of the team on Wednesday, Watson remained off to the side while working with a trainer. He reportedly did 30 minutes of cardio.
Watson weighed in at 464 pounds at Florida‘s pro day in March, but appears to be down roughly 30 pounds since signing with the team as an undrafted free agent earlier this offseason.

“I’m pleased. It’s just about trying to get him better, to be a healthier player on the field,” head coach Todd Bowles said of Watson’s progress, via the Tampa Bay Times. ”That’s kind of where I’m at right now. He’s working at it and we’re working with him and that’s all you can ask of him for right now.”

Watson still has over a month to shed the additional weight before the season starts. Bowles indicated that Watson could be an interesting piece to their roster once he’s able to return to football.

He proved to be an asset to the Florida Gators during his four-year career. He logged 64 tackles and 1.5 sacks while never missing a career game. He played 51 games as a Gator, including 10 starts.

“We have some things we have in mind with him, where we want to see him at,” Bowles continued, per the Times. ”We need to monitor that and get him where we think he needs to be and go from there.

“He’s made some progress. I don’t have a timetable on what we can get him down to and when that comes.”

The Buccaneers signed him shortly after the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-5 prospect received a $20,000 bonus when he signed, and has $50k guaranteed to his deal. He’s strong, having completed 36 reps on the bench — more than any other player at the NFL Combine — and ran a 5.93-second 404-yard dash. Despite his size, he has a 25-inch vertical jump.

Tampa Bay will begin the 2025 season against the Atlanta Falcons on the road during Week 1. However, Watson still has to prove himself as an undrafted rookie, so he’ll hope to get back by the time the the Bucs begin preseason play on Aug. 9 against the Tennessee Titans.
