How would Mason Rudoplh look at QB with a star WR and a better tackle added to the offense?

I think he'd look better. Good enough to win a playoff game?

A perfect bridge QB. One who is familiar with our players and some of the coaches, he is in his prime and rather sharp minded.

This does not mean we should take a shot at McCord, a player that I think has velocity and accuracy in his arm, QB smarts, leadership and durability all of which are good. He set records in college and checks the box for big plays of 15+ yards or more. The best in the nation at doing so.

A trade down in round one that nets us some draft capital and drafting McCord in round one is something I am for.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I'm on board with all that. And I think Rudolph can win a playoff game (or at least make it competitive) with above average OL play and some legit receiving weapons and a defense that doesn't disappear. I'm rooting for the guy.

Rudolph is 6-7-1 as a starter when asked to throw the ball more than 25 times a game and 3-1 when under 25 attempts. Don't ask him to do too much and he can be a 0.500 QB.

Why draft McCord in Round 1 when you could trade down and acquire more picks and still get McCord in a later round?

Trade down in round one to the bottom of the round 1 and select McCord. He wouldn't be there by our pick in round three. I am sold on the guy.

I think Rudy has peaked ( 2023 ) during his last year as a Steelers. Judge him then, not years ago and project DK Metcalf.

His head coach benched him in favor of Duck. YUCK.

Why not trade down into Round 2 and pick up better and more selections?

Don't try to throw logic into this discussion. LOL
Mason with our #1 from a year ago n Metcalf could be serviceable. He will be best as a nice vet back up who can win us a game or two in a pinch.

other than ward, every qb would be a huge reach and knee jerk reaction. if taken before round 3
our message board experts have these other qbs rated as 3rd round or lower.
a qb selection would be ‘kenny picket’ all over again
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

I think Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and Tyler Shough will all get drafted before Round 3 and possibly Quinn Ewers and Will Howard also.
