Not that it will matter much for the Steelers because they were absolutely terrible at kick returns last season (28th). Crazy thing is before the rule change on kickoffs the Steelers were top 10 in return yards in 2023.
Steelers jumped on signing a washed-up Patterson last season and it showed they didn't do their homework.

35? They come out to the 25 now, move it back to the 20.

Re: Patterson, Tomlin loves his washed up vets because he talked to them 8 or 9 years earlier at the combine. Allen Robinson, Joe Schobert, Myles Jack, Pat Pete, William Jackson, Patterson…they really need to take away some of his power, or we’re going to have Nick Chubb in a few weeks.

      Rules in 2024:
      • Kickoffs that hit the landing zone and then go into the end zone must be returned or downed by the receiving team. If downed, the receiving team will get the ball at its own 20-yard line.
      • Kickoffs that go into the end zone and stay inbounds that are downed will give the receiving team the ball at their own 35-yard line. Kickoffs that go out of the back of the end zone (in the air or bounces) would also be a touchback at the receiving team's 35-yard line.
      • Kickoffs short of the landing zone will be treated like a kickoff out of bounds and the receiving team will get the ball at its own 40-yard line.
Tomlin overplays the 'veteran presence' to the detriment of the team. Some of these guys are just looking to pad the bank account, and aren't really in it for a championship. Preston Smith a typical one....
