    Film: PIT v BAL Playoff

The Steelers defensive stars didn't show up. That's the bottom line. Fitz stunk. Queen looked disinterested. And Watt was shut out by a ROOKIE!

The Steelers have trailed by at least two scores in all 11 playoff losses (and one win — 2010 v. Baltimore). That’s remarkable, in a bad way.

    Jax 28-10
    GB 21-3
    Bal 21-7 (win)
    Den 20-6
    Bal 30-15
    Den 23-13
    NE 36-9
    Jax 28-7
    Cle 28-0
    KC 35-7
    Buf 21-0
    Bal 21-0

That is remarkable, to have that consistent a pattern of playoff futility, across that many different rosters over that many years...

and ownership can't see that some blame might need to go to the one constant the team has had over that span

Certainly points to a systemic failure. But sadly, the head of the system will be around for a few years longer. It's very odd that a defensive HC has been schooled so badly when it comes playoff time.

And it gives even more credence to comments by former players like Julian Edelman, that the Steelers NEVER change on D. We just "do what we do" and hope for the best.

I'm more and more done with Tomlin by the day.

Did these guys just all decide to stink in the PLAYOFFS? or was their "scheme" just completely out-smarted by the Rats?

I posted something shortly after the game about how the Steelers stayed in nickel most of the game vs. Baltimore’s heavy offensive set. They predictably got bludgeoned, but We Do What We Do, n’at.
