    28 of 32 NFL Teams

have won a playoff game since the Steelers have. Only Dolphins, Jets & Broncos haven't. Heard that on the radio, not sure if it's accurate. Really puts things in perspective.

My guess is that it's probably at least directionally correct (and likely just correct).

It is a little bit about how you ask the question though.

My guess is the answer how "how long since the team has been in a conference championship" is much more favorable to us. Probably also "how long since the team has been to a SB".

Those milestones are the things that most fans say they are most interested in. But the frustration of getting consistently blown out in WC games is real for all of us.

I thought it was 28 coaches. So Philly gets double counted since both Sirianni and Pederson did, same with the Texans, who won playoff games with both Bill O’Brien and De'meco Ryans. There might be others.

Only 7 teams with a worse playoff win drought,

Dolphins, Raiders, Bears, Jets, Cardinals, Panthers, and Broncos.

Only? That’s almost 1/4 of the NFL.

and the funny thing is a lot of folks have praised Miami for having an awesome HC.

Nothing proud about being in the bottom 25% of the league in the past 8 seasons in terms of playoff wins.

Outside of Denver, those are some pretty bad organizations, too.

The arrow is pointing up for Denver. Payton will build an offense around Nix. I expect them to jump on a RB early, then a TE as well later.

Problem here is not only being in the bottom quarter of the league with any chance at a playoff win, there's really little to look forward to.

Yup. The Bengals will make moves to fix their D, they’re probably going to win 11+ next year. Ravens are good every year. At least the Browns will suck, which leaves the door open for a 7th seed.

We’re like Wisconsin fans in the Big Ten at this point.

TOMLIN... Pardon my French. This bug eye loser must go.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Browns are likely to draft a QB who could actually be good if they don't screw him up.

Let's do some maths; let's assume 3/4 of the top QBs make the playoffs each season (this season it was 8 out of 10). That's 7 playoff teams already in. Then, you have another ~1/4 teams that put together a competitive roster with an averagish QB. That's 7 or 8 teams. So that is your playoff field. Teams with below average QBs or significant holes or injuries get bounced immediately.
It's really a QB driven system. All of the top QBs are favored to win this weekend.
The last time the Steelers had a QB ranked in the top half of the league was 2020. And that playoff game he played like a bottom half QB.

Their cap is still acrewed though, right?

I think Watson for 2 more years? Although maybe they can weasle out with the rein jury after he posted a bunch of pics with him not wearing his boot/brace?

Forgot about the Chiefs, too — they’ll get Rice back next year and draft/acquire more weapons for Mahomes. OL and D are good.

This was the year for the Steelers to make a mini-run.

Browns restructured Watson a month ago. Plenty of cap space.

OTC has his cap number for next season at $72.9MM (23.2%).
Deshaun Watson contract and salary cap details, including signing bonus, guaranteed salary, dead money, roster bonuses, and contract history

I think the restruture added voide years in 2027 and 2028 which pushed some of his prorated SB out to those seasons ($17.9MM in 2027 and $8.96MM in 202. There are still void years after that though...doesn't look like they serve a purpose (yet) per OTC.

Maybe it's just not up to date?

Sportrac has almost the same. Except they don't have the two extra void years with nothing.
