Steelers signed Skylar Thompson. Third string/ practice squad guy from Miami. 7th round pick from Kansas St. The team is saved! Whew…

I think this means that we're not going to mess around trying to bring in a UDFA for QB4 just to bring a guy to camp.
Hardly important. But one less meaningless story line to have to sift through before training camp. -
With such a weak QB class it makes sense to sign a guy that's been around the league rather than a complete UDFA dud.
Then again, it could be Tomlin's master plan to start Thompson, tank the season, and grab the #1 pick in 2026!!Last edited by NorthCoast; 01-15-2025, 07:20 AM.Comment

Of the names on that list, interesting to see Dylan Cook coming back. Specifically at such an unsettled position on this team. He got hurt last off-season and this year we have Moore likely gone, and the two potential starters are both unproven.
I also thought Welschof looked good in pre-season last year. He was an international exception last year but I don't know if that stands.Comment
