    Who’s this years scapegoat

    Going to be?
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

I think it will be blamed on a new offensive system and injuries.
Tomlin and Rooney will give the rah rah optimism speech that says we made great improvements in the run game and we just need to get more cohesiveness with our young online and OC.
Maybe cut a DB guy and WR guy to make it look like it was their fault.

What I'm seeing is - Russell Wilson - sorry, Wilson, but 20/29 on the road in the playoffs for 270 yards and 2 TDs just isn't good enough!!

Other favorites - "lack of talent" and coordinators are letting Tomlin down again!

This truly is football purgatory we are in as Steeler fans.

Nice numbers when playing catch up. Tell me, where was Wilson in the first half?

Are you convinced Russ just sucked in the first half? Or were the handcuffs loosened?

Russ has his issues, but they didn't turn him loose to really go into attack mode until we were down by 3 TDs

The HC who preaches not to live in your fears seemed to be coaching scared again

Russ’ numbers came in garbage time against prevent D, don’t be fooled.

but part of that is because Muth dropped the first pass and then didn’t fight for a first down on a completion.

Giving a QB 3 or 4 chances to make plays in the first half isn’t enough.

11 passes in the first half for total 40 yards. Pretty sure that wasn't the plan.

Year 3 for O-line coach Pat Meyer and the line has regressed even with investing lot into it. Time to get a guy who know where to put players (Hint - not were they have never played) and coach up the young guys. He has to be on the list of those heading to the exit for good.

For sure. Over the last 20+ years, the OL has been good when Russ Grimm and Mike Munchak were here. Mediocre at best otherwise. Can't overlook that role. Stoutland is the best in the biz and Philly runs roughshod over everyone.

Given my limited knowledge of the assistant OL coach landscape, I have no idea who they should look to, but it seems like giving the asst from the Eagles, Ravens, Bucs, Cards, Lions could be a good start.

Of course, we did try that with Munchak's assistant and that was a disaster so maybe not...

Tomlin brought up the soft-tissue injuries that helped derail the season, maybe the strength and conditioning coach is one of the scapegoats.

BTW, he was brought in from Boston College, where he previously coached…

                            ….wait for it…

                            Dino Tomlin.

It was odd. The first drive included: An opening play pass, two more throws to both Washington and Williams, a first down. I said then that even though there was only 19 yards, and Baltimore getting the ball at their own 5, that I liked the unexpected variety of plays. Although I didn't understand winning the coin flip and receiving.

Then the rest of the half was same old predictable, repetitive offense that we have seen so many times.
