Yup, but at least we know that Russ did it to keep the clock running and protect the ball.

Steelers vs. Browns: What they're saying in Cleveland after the loss

      Monday, Dec. 9, 2024

Nick Camino can’t wait for the Cleveland Browns’ season to be over. The sports anchor for WKYC-TV 3 in Cleveland lambasted his home team after the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated them 27-14 at Acrisure Stadium Sunday. “How many more weeks of the season do we have left?” Camino wrote. “We are

I wonder how much better we would feel about this loss if Wilson hits Williams on that roll out on the 1st drive. Seems like it would have been a 60+ yard TD if we can make that connection. Flushed out of the pocket running left though, hard throw to make even though Williams was wide open.

There was a lot of frustration early in this game on the gameday thread.

Hopefully we can get better at scoring point early. I think I heard earlier today that we don't have an opening drive TD this year?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess:

It was another somewhat surprising showing from the Cleveland Browns offensive line against this very strong defensive front. The team has battled with performance and injury issues for most of the 2024 season, but not against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team was able to do a decent job of holding the line of scrimmage on the passing attack, only letting quarterback James Winston get sacked three times. This may not seem the most impressive, but we’ve seen this protection fall against much lesser competition. They also finally did their job promoting the run game by helping them reach 4.2 yards per carry as a team.

And someone forgot to tell the writer that the Browns averaged less than 4 yds per rush in the 1st half. Only got it going when time was not in their favor for a run game.

And then there is more misery for sad sack Browns:

The Cleveland Browns have a big problem with kicker Dustin Hopkins.
And it’s an unexpected problem as well, coming fresh off of the best season a kicker has ever had in Browns franchise history in 2023. However, this season has been nothing short of a disaster for Hopkins after a career year.
This year, however, Hopkins is making kicks at an NFL-low rate of just 64 percent. He missed two against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, he missed one against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in Week 13, and all-in-all has missed a whopping nine kicks and two extra points on the year.

To make matters worse, the Browns just handed him a new three-year contract worth over $15 million before the start of the season.

Can't believe no one has brought up the very rare occurrence that happened in the last Browns game.

              Mike Tomlin won a challenge!!
