I think the 79th pick deserves at least until his second year to show he learned enough in his rookie season to contribute. If he was the 78th pick...I would say cut him but he was the 79th pick. :P

I would have to think that the FO has told Kugler to determine quickly if Urbik has any value & as such will be given every opportunity to show what he's got before they would consider cutting him loose.

The concern might come in the years ahead if they do not re-stock because of the age of the starting 3, but I suspect they will look to do that.
My issue is with what he says about the D-Line...this has been a problem for the last 3 seasons & they keep putting it off. Colbert said before the draft that this was the deepest draft in years for DTs & then basically ignores it until the 7th? 3 OLBs, 2 WRs & 2 OLs...an embarrassment of bodies & quality at those positions, & yet he ignores the talent on the board for the oldest unit on the team & one with barely more depth than the OLBs? Incredulous...this coming from a guy who has troubles from the 2nd round on.

I would think that is why Urbik is being given some time at C in the OTAs. if Urbik can beat out Legursky for the C/G swingman position he will probably stick, if Legursky wins that battle then Urbik may very well find himself cut.

True...& we can't forget that Kugler's arrival has a lot to do with it. Perhaps Urbik just wasn't a good fit or take to Zeirline's coaching. Personally this is the most interesting storyline going into camp - & that includes Ben - because we might see some big changes & some players may fall out of favor.
