    Aiyuk hurt...ACL suspected

At the end, I didn't want Aiyuk because I'm always afraid that players who miss this much of the off-season are more susceptible to injury. It didn't look like something that was preventable with a full off-season, but at this point I'm happy that the team decided not to overpay for him.

    Too bad.

Sucks when good players have big injuries.

I have no issue with how Aiyuk dealt with the Steelers. As a matter of fact, the word was that he agreed to a deal with the Steelers.

If true that he agreed then he obviously didn't honor that agreement

He wasn't a UFA. He doesn't have the ability to sign a deal.

If this wasn't pure speculation, it would be more like they talked about what a contract would look like if they did trade for him.

My understanding is that contracts can only be renegotiated after a trade is executed. I believe that's why we needed to keep enough cap space for his current cap hit. Because we couldn't bring it down this year until after a trade.

I have never reveled in the fact another player is hurt. I don't understand the logic.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

                    My take generally.
                    Jack Tatum?
If that punk never woke up from a hit I would not shed a tear.

My FAVORITE THING about the immaculate reception is hearing Tatum cry about it KNOWING IN HIS HEART that it was HIS FAULT for trying to maim Frenchy instead of simply looking at a ball that was coming straight at his head.

Tatum deserves nearly the same credit as Franco for that play.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

The trade was out of his hands. If we believe the timeline, the Niners allowed Aiyuk to talk contract with the Steelers. The two sides agreed. The two teams then discussed compensation for a trade and they never came to an agreement. Then the Niners got to a point where they said if we can't come to a deal today then we will accept the Steelers' offer, and that say they signed him.

Dodged a bullet there - but I still think we need help in the WR room. But after the bucs lost 2 guys last night, the market is getting thin. They’re shopping hard today for replacements.

The Steelers used to lay people out as badly or worse than Tatum, they just didn't paralyze anyone.
