We Need to Draft Ashton Jeanty

First, I want to congratulate my man Khalil Shakir for setting the NFL record for targeted consecutive catches. More proof that I was right about Khalil being the best WR of the 2022 draft class.

Now turning my attention to another Boise State product in RB Ashton Jeanty. I'll go on the record right this very minute and state that Jeanty has a real chance to be a NFL Hall of Famer. If he goes to the right team and is able to stay healthy he could be the next Barry Sanders.

The dude already has 13 TDs in 4 games, he can run 22 mph, squat 600 LBS and is averaging 10.3 YPC. Like Shakir, Jeanty is a beast after first contact and will keep plowing over defenders or bouncing off of them. A wrecking ball indeed!

It doesn't look like Harris will be a Steelers next season and Warren won't be a starter so we have a need. Let's pickup this generational talent.

    I will check him out.

One thing I do well is scout running backs (position knowledge)

I will post my assessment in this thread

Holy crap. 1 clip and I’m already impressed. Good feet, good vision, good power, good speed.

Will do a deep dive later, but you may be on to something here.

Sounds like an interesting pick in a position of need. What round are they projecting him in the draft?
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Been a fan for 2 years. He will go top 10, so Steelers have no chance at him.

Jeanty is a beast, not sure if we will have a shot at him though.

This kid is a beast, but if you don't grab him late Round 1 or early Round 2...then you aren't getting him

Update on Jeanty. The dude had 13 carries for 186 yards and 3 TDs. He didn't play the second half as Boise put 49 points up on the board by that point.

Ashton now has 16 TDs, 1031 yards and 10.9 YPC.

By the way he tied a FBS record for getting to 1000 yards in just 5 games.
Ashton Jeanty surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the season on just his 90th carry and produced 186 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 13 attempts in the first half of Boise State's blowout win versus Utah State.

This. Iowa and OSU have 3 backs between them that would look good in round 2, though.

Hold on for a second. Barry Sanders was the best RB of the 1990's. Now I would wait until he plays a top 10 college team first and makes an impressive NFL rookie debut second before comparing him to Barry.

Jeanty is trending as a top 20 pick, but methinks you're high on Boise potatoes.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Jeanty had 192 yards and 3 TDs against the current #3 team in the country the Oregon Ducks during week #2. You were saying what about playing a top 10 college team?

The Barry Sanders comment is a bit of hyperbole but not far from the truth. There are many people who believe that Jeanty is the best player in the nation.

With 3 starting offensive linemen out with injury Ashton is still performing at a high level.

I'm at the UH-Boise State game, I'll be submitting my personal scouting report to the Steelers. I promised Art II I would have it on his desk by tomorrow morning.

Looks like Ashton Jeanty is overrated, the Hawaii defense has held him to 8 carries for only 93 yards and 1 TD in the 1st quarter.

Well, it was Hawaii's defense. Their defense is a bunch of soft rainbows. : ) Who have they produced on defense that made it as a significant player in the NFL?

Jentry only had 217 yards rushing and ran for 7.0 yards a carry. He is treading as a top 10 pick. I find RB's among the easiest to scout. He looks to be the goods. No official call on him until he plays on an East of Central coast SEC or BIG Ten team that is ranked in the top 15.

He has to work out well at the combine / pro days , BUT if he is on the board for us in round one... I think it would be hard to pass on him.
