Gotta get one of these 5.
Jones would be the kind of guy who would thrive in our system. I put him on top of my wish list for DTs. Will be elated if we can score this guy.

They should draft Garrette Lindholm, Jeff Reed might get hurt, at least that way we'll have his backup and he can take over the kickoff duties immediately. No need to actually draft a football player that doesn't have to be developed.

Piotr Czech is still on the roster and gave Skippy a run for his $$$ last year, IMHO. Don't think there's a need there, Pappy. Czech, just guessing, may push Skippy again for a very interesting competition this year at kicker.

Wooten is listed at 270....little light for a 3-4 DE.
Both Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel were in the 270 range when we drafted them. They gained the weight after being drafted.
And it's been a while since they were drafted, now hasn't it? We got Ziggy last year but still need his counterpart for the future. Hope Colbert is paying attention if Wootton is still on the big board.

If we could get him and, say, Worthington (who, BTW, would also need to gain weight to play DT in the NFL) that would be a Day 3 bonanza.

I was being sarcastic, because, I don't think the Steelers drafted well on day two. The individual players themselves may be good, I would have rather had a DT than an OLB and the receiver isn't horrible, but he's a sprite.

I bet the Steelers take Verner if he's there. I've really liked him for us for a while. He's a little small and ran a little slow. But he can cover and he's a tackler and he's smart. I think this kid could contribute in the nickle/dime right away.

He's a guy who's play on the field leads me to believe he's a top talent at his position. But his size/speed make him available in day 3.

I really like Jones too.....think he would make a real solid 3-4 end with Pro-Bowl potential. Guy was a first round pick after his junior year.

                  Re: 4th round targets

It's a no-brainer- If Jonathan Dwyer is still on the board when the Steelers pick- he's the guy. He has the most ability of any rookie to have some immediate impact.

In the 5th, Chadman thinks we'll see lineman, and a safety- perhaps Kam Chancellor or Barry Church. If Nolan Carroll is still on the board- he could be a 5th too.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                  Light up the darkness.

                    Re: 4th round targets

Typically, the front office draft its mid-later draft picks from the group of 30 they interviewed. ( example of last years were Lewis, Frank the Tank, Wallace) Maybe we can use that a source on who might called next.

Bolded players are the only remaining visits that would make sense (players previosuly picked have been removed from the list)

this has been a dissapointing draft to say the least. we have to get franks or blount. maybe make some trades and get both guys in the 4th. that would salvage this draft imo.

I like pappy's idea of drafting a kicker for depth but we definetly need a back up punter in the draft. sep could get hurt again. either that or a 4th string TE because you can never have enough depth at TE
