    Walter Football Mock Draft

    1) Maurkice Pouncey, C / Florida
    2) Damian Williams, WR / USC
    3) Amari Spievey, CB / Iowa
    4) Brandon Spikes, ILB / Florida
5a) Anthony Dixon, RB / Miss State (Lendale White ???)
    5b) O'brien Schofield, OLB / Wisconsin
    5c) Barry Church, S / Toledo
5d) Ekom Udofia, NT / Stanford
    6) Clifton Geathers, DE / South Carolina

This draft would be a windfall for the Steelers. I would love this draft from top to bottom!!! Add a guy like Clay Harbor in the 7th and I think that all these guys could possibly make the team next year!!!! This would be fantastic!

Not a Pouncey fan, but if it went this way it would give the team new tools that could contribute. I would like this after I got over Pouncey.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum OV.....I truly believe that center is as big a need as CB. I think Pouncey would improve the team two fold because he would help improve the running game and that would help the defense because they would be on the field less!! I'm actually a big Pouncey fan but not a fan of Iupati at all!! Really as long as the team ends up with Pouncey, Haden, Wilson, or Thomas, I will be good with the pick!!

Has Spikes really dropped down to a 4th rounder??
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

        but Go Steelers!!!

After his Combine and Pro Day workouts I would say that no higher than 4th round for Spikes! Myself, I still think the guy is a football player and you can't measure those things on a track in shorts, but that is just me!

Walter's not usually that far off, so I'd say yes. NFLDraftScout has him listed as a 3rd or 4th round prospect and falling.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I like Walter Football but I would prefer not to see a WR so early.

I would actually like to see Terrell Troup in Round 2 and Taylor Price in Round 3, but this is the best mock to date from a Steeler prospective!

                    Re: Walter Football Mock Draft

Here is my mock. I also think there is a shot we go with Pouncey and he would replace Hartwig from day one. I have some players with off field history so doubt we would go this route after the behavior of some of the current players. Need to update this before Thursday but this is what I put together as my option.....

                    C-FS-NT-DE-RB-WR-QB-CB-TE-WR-OT

                    1st Round: C Maurkice Pouncey – Florida – 6’4½” 304lbs
                    2nd Round: FS Morgan Burnett – Georgia Tech –6’1 3/8”209lbs 4.42 40yds
                    3rd Round: NT Linval Joseph – East Carolina – 6’4” 328lbs – 5.09 40yds
                    4th Round: DE Alex Carrington – Arkansas State – 6’5 ¼” 285lbs 4.94 40yds
                    5th Round: RB LaGarrette Blount – Oregon – 6’1” 241lbs – 4.76 40yds
                    5th Round: WR Carlton Mitchell – South Florida – 6’4” 215lbs – 4.45 40yds
                    5th Round: QB John Skelton – Fordham – 6’6” 243lbs – 4.85 40yds
                    5th Round: CB Kevin Thomas – USC – 6’0” 192lbs – 4.48 40yds
                    6th Round: TE Andrew Quarless – Penn State – 6’5” 254lbs – 4.69 40yds
                    7th Round: WR Blair White – Michigan State – 6’2 ¾” 209lbs – 4.51 40yds
                    7th Round: OT Ed Wang – USC – 6’4 ¾” 314lbs – 5.15 40yds

                    UDFA’s To bring in:
                    FB Cory Jackson – Maryland

Walter added a 7th round today, so the full mock now looks like this:

                        1) Maurkice Pouncey, C / Florida
                        2) Damian Williams, WR / USC

5a) Anthony Dixon, RB / Miss State
                        5b) O'brien Schofield, OLB / Wisconsin
                        5c) Barry Church, S / Toledo
5d) Ekom Udofia, NT / Stanford
                        6) Clifton Geathers, DE / South Carolina
7a) Joe Webb, WR / UAB
7b) Michael Hoomanawanui, TE / Illinois

Definitely a good mock & I'd be happy if it played out this way. However I'd prefer Kareem Jackson CB Alabama in rd 2 & Taylor Price WR Ohio in 3 (I'm an Ohio grad so I'm partial but Price can play). Maybe insert Blount as the 5th rd RB & I'd be ecstatic!
