Gay, Colon, Spaeth sign tenders

Right tackle Willie Colon, cornerback William Gay and tight end Matt Spaeth signed one-year contracts with the Steelers today.

Colon, who has been a starter since 2007, signed for $2,396,000. Gay, who started last season at cornerback, and Spaeth each signed for $1,101,000.

All three had been restricted free agents.

Maybe I don't remember last season as well as I thought I did, but I had Gay figured to be worth about the price of a Greyhound bus ticket out of town (to AZ, or NE*, most likely).

Maybe I don't remember last season as well as I thought I did, but I had Gay figured to be worth about the price of a Greyhound bus ticket out of town (to AZ, or NE*, most likely).
