    At the beginning of this month, Seahawks starting LB LeRoy Hill pleaded guilty to a charge of marijuana possession, receiving 12 months of probation. Then, two days ago, Hill was arrested for investigation of domestic violence. Hill's girlfriend had obvious marks and injuries indicating an assault had occurred and she alleged Hill had caused these injuries. The Seahawks asked him not to show up for their minicamp sessions this week.

    How many of your have heard of this? I'm assuming not many (although you likely have heard a bunch about it living in the Pacific Northwest and all). LeRoy Hill isn't nearly as high profile as Ben Roethlisberger or Santonio Holmes (even though he is a good enough player for the Seahawks to franchise tag him last year and then sign him to a six-year contract that could potentially be worth $38 million with $15.5 million guaranteed).
    Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

    Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

    We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

    We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

      I think it's a sign of the times. Media scrutiny is hyperaggressive and 24/7 with multiple outlets in real time. Are the players really worse than in the past? I don't know, maybe.

        I noticed it Ruthless & I'm curious to see what happens to him courtesy of Mr. Goodell's office. Anything less than four games & I'll write the commissioner's office.

        Otherwise back to the thread - I agree with Oveido & add that this is only an issue for anyone who wants to make it one. Tomlin's doing a fine job & regardless of the troubles, I'm still looking forward to the season.

          Ruthless - I definitely know about Leroy Hill, but it has gotten very little press. I was going to bring up the fact that he was the first knucklehead to take away some of Ben's attention, but I haven't seen much about it in the national media.

              Lambert would've kicked Ben's a88 back into line before Noll ever got to him. He was not fond of QB's.

                Every incident in the past was high profile to Steeler fans...

                while we get 24hr news cycles now we also more info on multiple stories so I think it evens out. Some people think the media isn't going all in like they would if it was TO or Ocho in the same situation.

                I recently heard Tiki Barber left his pregnant wife for his intern... it never stops. I also think the players were worse back in the day... just like the game was rougher back then. Holmes wouldn't make news for a blunt and a thrown drink..
