      Shawn is right...if this was true, why didn't it come out before when it would've been much more relevant? This looks more like piling on at this point with the media driving a "public conviction" in lieu of the GA DA not charging him. If there there isn't enough evidence to charge him, then don't create a situation where you essential convict him. The DA needed to say what was the driving factor in not bringing charges - she was so drunk from a night of drinking that she couldn't remember details, her story kept changing & there wasn't enough medical evidence to support her allegations.

      It seems that a lynch mob mentality is developing here...he's not been charged with anything at any time, so let's let Goodell do what he wants & let Ben figure what he needs to do to get his act together.

      I know this, this guy had better be right because if he just threw something out there to "pile on" & it isn't true then Ben would have every right to sue him for libel. In a best case scenario I hope that McNulty is proved to be a flake & gives Ben some relief.

          Personally, I would come down on the side of keeping him. But it would be very close decision.

          He would be gone.

          The rape stuff wouldn't even figure into it.

          Just based on his medical history of multiple concusions he is only 2 away from having to retire anyway.

          That could be as early as some point in this season, but more likely within the next two years.

                Surely there is some lawyer out there who will be happy to take the case.

                He will never win a libel suit though.

                To do so he has to prove that his reputation has been permanently damaged by the source of the statements.

                He'll never be able to prove that.

                The only person who has damaged ben's rep, is ben.

                            My guess is that one Mr. Ed Garland made a phone call and began asking questions about the statements made on the radio. Manion didn't like where it was headed as it was a very unprofessional response to a situation that he wasn't even involved with and Garland reminded him of such.

                            It may not have been illegal, but it was rather seedy since he wasn't really involved and no one asked for his opinion, particularly in a public forum. The horse is out of the barn; I'm sure Manion wishes he had kept his mouth shut at this point. I have to believe that the BAR association can't be thrilled with this type of behavior. Calling Phillyesq, calling Phillyesq...

                                No way I would trade Big Ben. He is the best player on the team right now. QBs don't grow on a tree and Steelers have a bad reputation as far as QB position goes. I don't want to wait for 26 years to see another Steelers SB victory.
