Re: Holmes on TMZ
This supposedly occurs on 3-7-10, and we sign Antwaan Randle El and Arnaz Battle on 3-8-10. Coincidence? Or something more???
Perhaps this is the possible suspension-worthy offense that SN1's source was talking about instead of getting caught with pot again. Hmmm...Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Re: Holmes on TMZ
Wow, that would end his tenure as a Steeler, I'm sure. Limas may have another window of opportunity to make an impact on this team. I'm not sure how this would effect the draft. What an idiot, these guys are unbelievable.

Re: Holmes on TMZ
I'm not so sure about that...I don't know whether today's Steelers have enough moral fiber to deal with their star players.Originally posted by papillonWow, that would end his tenure as a Steeler, I'm sure.
Get used to it. We are the new Bengals.Originally posted by papillonWhat an idiot, these guys are unbelievable.
Wonder when we'll have PacMan in for a visit?Comment

Two key offensive players appear to be in trouble. I think those two should stay away from bars and night clubs for a while.Comment

Oh you can bet there are still some teams out there who would be interested in him. I'm sure the team has it's investigators going over the facts on this case, as they are regarding Ben's situation, in efforts to come up with their own conclusions about guilt or innocence.
While I expect the team to keep Ben on the roster- (even if he is suspended) until the outcome of his case- it would not surprise me all that much if Holmes is involved in a draft-day trade.
As everyone here has already mentioned- they didn't sign a 50 catch p/yr El to a multi-million dollar contract to play the #4 receiver.
This alleged event occurred three weeks ago- the team is planing.
Does anyone have any idea what the second stage of suspension for this type of thing might be? 6 weeks? A season?
Because of the lack of certainty of Holmes availability for the upcoming season- what would his trade value be?
A 2nd or 3rd round pick??Comment

Re: Holmes on TMZ
The team doesn't need a conviction or even charges to suspend, release or trade a player they deem detrimental to the team. Santonio could be exonerated, but the Steelers would still be well within their rights to move him in some fashion.Originally posted by SugarAnother accusation without a formal charge. I guess I'm not interested until there is a charge of some kind. Other than that we have nothing to talk about, IMO.
