I agree with you, everyone is entitled to their opinions and I much prefer a civil discussion.

however, take a look at who started this thread and the first sentence that Steel Maniac wrote in his opening post. do you think that opening sentence promotes a civil discussion?

if you're going to mention me by name like that you will definitely get a response back.

As a passer LJ is not doing that well this season. For QBs who have thrown at least 120 passes:

        %On Target passes = 67% 25th in the NFL
        %Catchable = 72.6% 26th in the NFL
586 completed air yds; 25th in the NFL
QBR on deep passes = 80 (Roethlisberger is 85; Brees is #1 at 158

Jackson is 3rd in the NFL for avg depth of target at 9.4 yds.

But, they are winning games (just not with LJ's arm).

I think that was a the plan all along with Baltimore. Do you want good passing stats and losses or average passing stats and wins?

Flacco mailed it in and gave LJ a chance earlier than he should’ve and the Ravens are running with it (literally).

Honestly, I’m impressed an NFL team would buy in and change their O to fit
LJ’s strengths vs forcing him to be something he isn’t (pure pocket passer).

Imagine if we let Kordell continue to be slash instead of trying to make him a drop back passer? I think we would’ve seen a few more years of success with Kordell.

I agree with you, but that wasn't the argument Steel Maniac was making.

he said Lamar Jackson was going to be a total flop in the NFL and that the Ravens franchise would be set back years for drafting him and that the Browns as a result would leapfrog the Ravens in the standings.

well, LJ won the NFL MVP award last season, the Ravens have won the last two AFC North titles and beat the Browns 38-6 in the opening game this season with LJ going 20-25 for 275 yards, 3 TDs no ints and a passer rating of 152.1.

no one is arguing that LJ needs to improve his passing mechanics, but Steel Maniac's statement of him being a total flop who would set the Ravens franchise back years simply isn't true.

As feltdizz rightly argues, the coaches completely changed their offense to fit LJ's talents. Not many teams would have the foresight (or gonads) to make such a change. Credit them to doing it and making it work.

LJ and the Ravens defense are a handful right now no matter how people want to slice it. Same can be said for out Steelers when they play well. Will be interesting to see what happens in 2 weeks with 1st place in the division on the line.

Game is going to a defensive battle I think. I see a 24-20 Steelers victory but we could win going away if we take full advantage of the interceptions LJ will throw. It will be another lack luster game for him and even further proof of how the league has caught up to him.

nobody disputes that the way to beat LJ and the Ravens is to stop their running game, get a lead and force him to throw.

you predicted that LJ would be a total flop in the NFL and would set the Ravens franchise back years allowing the Browns to leapfrog them in the standings. well. LJ won the NFL MVP award last season and the Ravens have won consecutive AFC North titles since drafting LJ.

that has turned out to be completely incorrect, why don't you just admit how wrong you were about LJ or is that something you're incapable of?

Just like what I’ve been saying... he’s going to force balls to the middle of the field because he can’t pass outside the hash marks
