Steelers RB Mewelde Moore spent his entire time in Pittsburgh working under offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

It appears as if he’ll continue that trend after signing a deal with the Indianapolis Colts Tuesday. Moore, a versatile back-up and third-down back, brings to Indianapolis solid rushing and receiving skills. His time in Pittsburgh ended largely due to younger and more affordable options being available.

It was thought that if the young group of Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer, John Clay, Baron Batch and Chris Rainey showed their youth (particularly the last four), Moore might be someone the Steelers would keep in mind as a training camp signee. It appears Moore is looking for a bit more of a chance.

The Colts have completely overhauled their team from the front office and down. First overall selection Andrew Luck will replace Peyton Manning, and a new coaching staff led by former Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano looks to lead the Colts back to prominence in the AFC.

Players like Moore can help them do that. He was a fine injury option in Pittsburgh since 2008, filling in for a variety of running backs and being a relied upon weapon, particularly on passing downs.
