After Leaving Pittsburgh Without a Deal, Caldwell Ready to Join Ravens Staff

It was thought that former Colts head coach Jim Caldwell may be coming to the Steelers as possible offensive coordinator.

Now, he’s going to the enemy.

The man who led the Colts to the Super Bowl just two seasons ago is now set to join the offensive coaching staff of the Ravens, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Ravens announced last week that Cam Cameron would return as offensive coordinator, but they still need a quarterbacks coach for Joe Flacco. Caldwell now appears to be the choice.

Caldwell had been in Pittsburgh Saturday, and had breakfast with coach Mike Tomlin, but left the Steel City without a contract, and it was probably at that point he realized he would not be getting one.

So the search for the man to take over for Bruce Arians will continue. And the Steelers will see plenty of Caldwell on the other sideline in 2012 and beyond.
