    OT: Edelman

I'm sure yinz have caught up with all the media yapping about Edelman to the HOF since his retirement. What I am baffled by is what metric can they possibly be using as evidence that he belongs over some others that are still waiting, like Hines Ward, Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, Irving Fryar, Andre Johnson?

TDs? not close with only 36
Yds? not even enough to beat 2nd tier players
Yds/target ...haha, king of the 5 yd in

They are really grasping for stories this time of year.

He's getting into the Hall... when he buys a daily ticket like the rest of us. Not even close.

Making the HOF as a WR will become even harder soon with the explosion of passing numbers.

That's why I don't think Ward gets in.

Edleman shouldn't be in the conversation IMO.

I have the utmost respect for Julian Edelman.

but I don't think he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

I don't think he belongs there, either

But it's undeniable that he came up big in the playoffs -- #2 all-time (behind Jerry Rice) in each of the following categories:
    --most catches
    --most receiving yards
    --most 100-yard games

Wonder if this is still true on a per game basis.

"Was on the Pats when the played a lot of playoff games" probably isn't a great justification for getting into the hall.

Although some would probably argue that Steelers fans aren't the best group to be making an argument like that.

Dudes been in NINETEEN playoff games.
His QB averages over 40 passes a game in those games.
Just being a starter gets you records when nobody in history has been in nearly as many playoffs as hes been.

He is no better than an average NFL starter in the right place at the right time.
