Just some guy facing a deadline to just print anything. I'm sure all of this comes from his head and has nothing to do with the thinking of the organization.

Regardless of who wins, it is very likely to be a significant upgrade at the position from what this team has had the last two-plus seasons. Throw in the equally impactful OC change from Canada to Smith and I expect this offense to be far more efficient and productive.
I don't know if it will require a total flop vs. a complete eye-popping performance. I hope that if the difference is noticeable over the next two months, both in camp and pre-season, that the team will go with Fields. I know that there is some reported speculation that Wilson had to be guaranteed the starting job to come to Pittsburgh, but I doubt that is true. I believe he was told that he'd be given first crack, and it looked like his competition would be Pickett, which was more than enough. The Giants, on the other hand, have a $40M QB and it is hard to keep that out of the game if Wilson even starts and struggles for a few games.

Am concerned with the recent murmurs from DeFabo that Fields was struggling with the speed of the game. So I did some poking on last season's time to throw stats hoping there was a trend downward as the season progressed for Fields. Unfortunately, the opposite was true. There was a measurable uptick in time to throw in his last month of games. Starting to think he may be one of these slow processors, and it is why CHI decided to make the change, because they didn't see it getting any better.

I think the mobility of Fields will be his main saving grace, but not sure that is enough to run the offense they want to run.

I know the guy has all the physical tools but haven't watched enough or followed his career closely enough to know if he has all it takes to be a successful NFL starter. I only hope that if he does have it that he gets every chance to show it, and if he shows that he can outplay Russ, that he gets the shot to start.

Funny thing is, Justin wasn't a big runner in college, I know I always wanted him to run more on designed plays. In 2 seasons and 22 games, he ran for 867 yards. Contrast to Lamar, a more traditional running QB, who ran for 960 as a frosh, then blew up for 1571 and 1601 his last two seasons at Louisville.

Point being, he can be a dynamic passing QB in the right offense with the right supporting cast.

How can Russell Wilson be "unquestioned QB1" when he is a cut candidate.

Camp can't happen soon enough so idiots quit posting nonsense

Why do you have to be such a jerk all the time? If you don't like someone's opinion at least be respectful about it.

I only liked getting him because he was cheap. I don?t like it when a QBs best attribute is running which is the impression I got from Chicago.

As someone who never saw him in college, your comment gives me hope.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

My inlaws are huge Bears fans so I look in on them occassionally. Last season I watched Fields against CLE. He was not very good. And unfortunately, that is a team he could face 2x a year.

Oh, I get it. It was everybody but Fields that was the problem. Kinda like Pickett last season....

Fields is 3-16 when facing a top 15 defense in his career.

The Browns defense was #1 in the league at home, nobody was good against them there.

He obviously deserves some blame there, but the Bears were a terrible roster with a terrible OC his three years there.

He did have almost a hundred yards rushing in the game. So I'll give him that.
We'll see. Over that many games I am a skeptic.
