    Here's what I predict!

I'll put my predictions on record:

    1. We won't select a Center in Rounds 1 or 2. OT of DB in Round 1. WR or DL in Round 2 (I'd prefer DL). Round 3 is the sweet spot for a Center. Remember Webster, Dawson and even the GREAT Creed Humphrey weren't 1st Round picks. I think they also feel very good about Spencer Anderson.

    2. We will sign a free agent Center after the draft

    3. We won't trade for a veteran WR during the draft (Aiyuk or Sutton), but eventually Tyler Boyd signs with the team

    4. We'll bring Patrick Peterson back before training camp. He will be a situational player, but also valuable mentor for Porter and the young CB they draft.

    5. Keep an eye on Brandon Coleman, an offensive lineman from TCU. Family relationship with Tomlin, but more importantly a good off lineman. He'll end up with the Steelers.

I post this knowing I never won the lottery so there's that
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

    1. Mason McCormick from South Dakota State could be a sleeper pick in round 3 or 4. He projects well to center. Of course, we heard the same thing about Kendrick Green a couple of years back.
    2. Depending on who we draft, Mason Cole could be back for another go-round.
    3. Hope you're right about not trading for Aiyuk or Sutton; I think the draft capital required would be too much. Not sure about Boyd, though.
    4. Kinda hope we can do better than PP, but I think you're right, chances are good we have him onboard for another season.
    5. Kind of a "meh" on this one-- projects as a backup/maybe eventual average starter at the guard position. Could back up guard and tackle spots, but doesn't look like a starter at tackle.

I'm predicting CB, Center or Center,CB in Rd1&2. The Steelers are not coming out of the draft without the Center position locked up.

We cut our 2 year starter at Center and we don't have one. Not that we had one before we cut him. You can't run the ball successfully without a Center. We will get one by Friday.

Well, we will draft a center in round one or two

We signed three WR in free agency but will draft if you were paying attention.

We will not bring Peterson back for 2024 camp.

Those are the things I disagree with.

I can however guarantee you for say $9 dollars all six numbers selected on the Florida lottery.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I don't know about predictions but imo, if the Steelers don't have Frazier, Barton, Powers-Johnson or Van Pran-Granger on the roster after this draft its a fail
As things stand right now if Leggette, Polk, Pearsall or Wilson aren't on the team its a minor fail as well

The Steelers don't have much at those positions (WR and OC) right now and it doesn't look much will be happening before Thursday so I'd say these positions have to be a priority. Now if Latham, Arnold or Mitchell fall it will be difficult to pass, they could use an OT or CB#2.

            Just my opinion

If the draft fell in such a way that we drafted Nourzad in the 4th I could not argue with that. I believe in another thread we kicked the tires on the Penn State C being a nice plan B for the Steelers. That would also mean with the four choices before that that we may have filled holes at T, wr, db and either LB or DL.

We just had THE MOST PREDICTABLE DRAFT EVER my friend.

Jones, Porter, Benton, Washington, even Herbig were mocked to us FREQUENTLY.

Only surprise was that we actually got THAT MANY of them.

Name the last time that happened?

Heck, most times by round 2 there
                  is a surprise pick.

IMHO a year ago when we traded up Porter ,Christian Gonalez and Jones were all options. Not that often we move up like that so again imho less predictable than in the past. And it was not obvious who we moved up for until the pick was in.
Porter in the 2nd that was predictable when we kept the pick but there were many who believed because we had more then one trade offer we were not going to keep the pick. Benton yes he was on our radar.
Trading back in the 3rd was again an unpredictable move imho. Again not something we often had done.
And I feel comfortable stating we are not so predictable. Today a few days out from this draft I would say there are at least a half dozen guys who are legit options for us in round 1. That is if we do not move out of pick 20. Round 2 probably a dozen guys on the radar so overall I feel better about not tipping our hand as much as in the Colbert era.

True we moved. Just like we did for Devon Bush a few years ago. Except that time we moved to top 10. I knew who they were going to pick. They did not even show much interest AT ALL in Gonzalez (reports were that Tomlin did not like him before the draft) and the Jets were STRONGLY rumored to want Jones not a corner so it was indeed VERY predictable. As was:
                      Porter
                      Benton
                      Washington
                      Herbig

The only surprise was they were mostly available a round later than they were mocked to us…Which made them MORE obvious,

This thread is about surprise PICKS not just moves unless it involves moved to pick a player that is a surprise.

Moving up to pick one of the two players most frequently mocked to us in the first was no surprise. Most mocks that had us picking Porter in the first was because they mocked Jones as being gone before us.

I will repeat. When was the last time that we went 5 deep without a single surprise pick when we saw what was on the board at that pick?

Give any season where by pick 3 you weren’t surprised at a pick. Never before has the consensus of this board been so aligned with our picks. Why?

THEY WERE MORE PREDICTABLE THAN WE HAVE EVER SEEN.

I would prefer something closer to a sure thing than a 4th round sleeper pick but that's just me. I'm a guy that thinks center is the most important position on the offensive line and when the Steelers have a good one they are more successful.

I?ll predict whoever gets selected will be great picks and steals. Certain fans on here will praise the picks even tho they never mocked them or even heard of them.
I?ll predict that certain fans will give us As and Bs and make fun of the browns picks.
They will also post articles that give the Steelers good draft grades and not post the bad ones.
They will say an individual that ?has no credibility? because they didn?t like what was written about the Steelers will all of a sudden have credibility now because they say something nice about the Steelers.
If a trade gets made, the ?Kahn man? will get credit for duping the other team .
And lastly, some fans will cry if any fans criticize a pick.

How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?
