The 100 Free Agents of 2024: Who Would You Pursue?

I think the quality of players available in this free agency period is really quite strong. We could get better much faster. It's up to management to make the most of this opportunity. If you were in charge of the Steelers which FA would you pursue?

We look at the 200 best players set to hit the free-agent market this offseason with free agency still months away.

We should grab Clowney and cut TJ. They have practically the same pash rush win rate and Clowney was doubled WAY MORE. Proof positive that Clowney is at least as good as TJ at A FRACTION of the cost. This will let us afford even more free agents. Sure those insignificant "counting stats" like sacks, QB hits, tackles, tackles for loss, defended passes, and forced fumbles would decline but all important win rate is what really matters.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

That's the spirit. I agree. Just kidding. I love PFF, but my love for TJ Watt is more immense. Lemming, get your hands off the best defender in all of football, lol.

No idea what these guys could cost, but maybe with his past health issues, we could get Mekhi Becton on a relatively low priced contract for his position.

If he worked out, having him and Brod as our Ts could be a huge boost for our OLine.

Seems like the kinda guy we take a flier on. Former #11 pick that didn’t work out because of injuries and we give him a chance and hope he flourishes.

I loved to get my hands on Christian Wilkins and insert him at DE, being that we seem to have missed on Loudermilk and Leal. I'm not sure if we can pull it off. I'll let the salary cap experts on here let me know if this is a practical idea.

I'd love to sign Antoine Winfield but it's not happening because we have Minkah.

Can we swap one half of the WR toxic twins for the reliable Michael Pittman? I'd be pleased. Sh**, forgot it doesn't work that way.

If we could sign Derrick Henry for a reasonable price, I'd jump for joy. I can imagine him helping the line impose our will on the opposition. Forgot we still have too many bums on the OL. Darn.

Xavier McKinney at SS would be a beast in the box for us.

Gabriel Davis is another player I like at WR. At least he's reliable and can stretch the field.

Curtis Samuel I like as well. Reliable f'n hands.

I like Sean Murphy-Bunting. He'd help our secondary I think, and wouldn't cost too much.

Last but not least, I had no problem with signing Tannehill for 1 year. Minshew and Mayfield would be great backups as well. Having said that congrats to Hawaiiansteel for nailing his Lamar Jackson pick in winning the MVP.

a lot of these are pretty dang good. I love the idea of Christian Wilkins, but you'd have to pay him like Cam.

Love Pittman, though i see a big payday for him. Samuel and Davis are actually realistic options at WR, tho my gut says they go to a round 4-6 selection.

I feel like the cap situation will likely send Edmunds back our way, but there are some good safeties out there.

Chris Jones and Patrick Queen would be dream signings, but probably out of the Steelers' price range.

Tyler Boyd would be doable though. I just hope we come out of free agency with a couple of starters, we have too many needs to address them all in the draft.

                    Johnson,
                    Sneed,
                    Fuller or
                    Gilmore

Any of the CBs that could possibly fit into the cap for the Steelers, proven is better than unproven, particularly with the Steelers, even though Porter looks like a hit.

Not sure we should break the bank on a Center in free agency.

I'd rather we go after CB, Safety or DT

I'm resigning RB/KR Godwin Igwebulke solely for his heads-up out of bounds downing on that kick-off return.

Cush was the 19th ranked center last season. What the writer suggests is waaay too much money for that kind of play.
