Original answer
Ben ($5)
Swann ($4)
Stallworth ($4)
Warren ($1)
Muth ($1)
I'm building a team for the current NFL where passing is king.
Can still run with Warren, but he's also a good pass blocker and can catch out of the backfield. Just like real football, I don't want to use much cap space on the RB position.
I would have liked to take Bell because I think he's tremendous value here. In his prime, he's a better back than Bettis for the current NFL IMO. Maybe then downgrade at WR to Lipps (who I didn't really watch play in real-time much)?
I think PF is better than his stats show and if the QB play was better he'd have better numbers.
Also could have gone with Brown and Holmes at WR for the same price. Pickens is maybe too cheal?
Final answer?
Ben ($5)
Brown ($5)
Pickens ($1)
Bell ($3)
Muth ($1)
Here's how I upgraded from Warren to Bell. WR is a little worse, but Pickens has upside. And I don't have to pay Bell to be RB1 and WR2Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 02-09-2024, 08:37 AM. -
Ha, this is cool.
TB ($4), Bell ($3), Lipps ($2), Holmes ($3), Green ($3)
Can run or throw out of any formation.Comment

KP shouldn't be on here, instead I'm replacing him with Bubby for 1 who I shall take
Bubby - 1
Hines - 5
Brown - 5
Bell - 3
Muth - 1Comment

This was the first answer I came up with and believe is the only correct answer.
But then my second thought is, if we used our money on Dirt, Faneca, Decastro, Marvel Smith, and Broderick, then it wouldn?t matter which skill players we put behind them.
Kordell and Bell running behind that line would be electric. Hines blocking for them downfield would be epic. Maybe plug in Juju for another big body that likes to block downfield. Eric Green is the other super low cost vs potential guy on the board and he?s a monster TE that would help that running game.sigpicComment

Nice, I went Warren and Green instead of Muth and Bell, but can go either way on that one. I believe Ben, Brown and Pickens (or possibly Ju Ju but I'd stick with Pickens) is the first three answers.Comment

The offense we had with slash and spreading it out with 5 WRs was probably the most innovative offense I've ever seen us have.
I could use that money to increase from Muth to Green. I'd like to get Heat

That offense was so good when we had Slash and we would spread guys out 5 wide.
But not sure what I'd do with the extra money. I guess having Holmes could be better than Pickens. Upgrading from Pickens to Holmes? Or maybe Muth to Green?
My heart wants to somehow get Heath on the team. But there's just no way that it's worth it to spend as much on a TE as we would on QB.Comment

I think Green is a good pick too. But TE seems to be the least valuable position on this list to me, so I went with the $1 guy.
If I made the game up, I think I'd probably have the QBs start at $10 and go down by $2 each because QBs are just so valuable compared to other positions. Doing that makes decisions much harder. Because if you take Ben (or TB), then you are forced to pick the other guys from the bottom of the list (although I think we have a good group of "skill players" and they're all $1 except Najee).
If that was how the game worked, I think maybe I'd do this:
Neil O'Donnel ($6)
Bell ($3)
Holmes ($3)
Pickens ($1)
But that only gets me from Muth to Bruner. Maybe I cold go with Plex and Pickens and get to Green?
Or keep Muth and have to make the difficult choice or Stallworth over Swann? But I didn't watch those teams all that much. I don't know which is the "better" choice between the $4 WRs.Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 02-09-2024, 01:53 PM.Comment

In this game, there's no difficulty finding a good QB. You have 2 hall of famers you can choose from.
The Steelers current problem isn't that they somehow forgot that QBs are important. It's that good to great QBs (even average ones) are hard to find.Comment

If Ben costs the same as Heath, it means you always take Ben and you never take Heath. Hines and Jerome too, even though I love them.Comment
