Would drive some crazy, but I would...

Look to bring back Terrell Edmunds. He isn't a Pro Bowler, but he is a solid player who doesn't miss games. More importantly he is a great partner for Minkah, just like Ryan Clark was for Troy

The safeties we put out in 2023 were not anywhere as good as Edmunds.

Time to get past the false narrative on Edmunds because he wasn't a Pro Bowler and see him as the asset he was for us. We are a better team with him than without him

I agree. Tons of breakdowns without him.

Also remember Edmunds missed the Buffalo game in 2022 in Kenny’s first start when Josh Allen threw for almost 300 yards in the first half on 4 pass plays.

I'd rather bring Rowe back than Edmunds. They're probably similar in age. Rowe may be a bit older.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I'd be happy for this to happen.

SS is a need on this team and Edmunds is a solid guy who's likely to stay healthy.

And he should be able to spend a bunch of time in the box so Minkah can play CF instead of being an ILB like he was this season.

I wanted us to keep him around, but I get him wanting to go see if he could get a longer term commitment from someone else.

I'd like to see both back, and I don't think either will be expensive.

Edmunds was born in 1997 (~ 27 next season).
Rowe was born in 1992 (~ 32 next season).

For normal people, that's not a big age gap IMO. But for pro athletes, I think it's a big deal.

              This.

Fill an starting role with a guy we know is competent.

Look for bigger fish to fry in the draft.

He's already turned down an offer from us once (IIRC). But maybe he comes back after seeing the grass on the other side?

This. Rowe is quicker to diagnose plays and that is what constantly got Edmands to the dance a bit late on a regular basis. I'd keep Rowe around and if we found a compliment in the draft to Fitz this would be the time to get him on board before Rowe ages out.

Was letting Edmunds walk another 'misevaluation' by the HC??

I'll say one thing after watching the games yesterday, I'm jealous of BAL and Hamilton. Dude is a Troy in the making.

I don't think so. Although I would have been fine if we offered him the 1 year $2M contract instead of the 1 year 4-year with the same team contract (same we gave him the year before).

I think it was more that Edmunds took a little bit more money because that's probably how players should operate. And maybe in a different system he could make more plays (didn't really happen that way though).

He went there. Got traded. And is maybe waiting to see if he'll get resigned where he was traded to. He played in 16 games and had 4 starts. Played about 30% of defensive snaps with TEN, and about 70% with PHI. 1 INT, 2.5 sacks, 48 tackles (2 for loss).

I think the league is saying he is what we thought he was. Probably a good 3rd S. OK starter.

I hate to admit but I'm a bit jealous of the whole team (except Lamar in the playoffs).

I wouldn't mind drafting someone like Ohio St SS Josh Proctor in the 6th round.

not impressed with the veterans we have there now, we need some younger blood.

You're right about Hamilton being very good.
As far as any misevaluation on Edmunds that I believe most of us agree he was over drafted and likely should have been a 3rd rounder or so. Now letting him go well he had to try the market. Reality check for him.
Bringing him back on a short term deal for back up $$$ would not be a bad move for us. Availability is a talent and though he doesn't make a ton of plays he knows the scheme n gets a hat every week. We have greater needs than safety but getting a rookie perhaps in round 4 where he have a pair of selections may not be a bad idea. Cole Bishop or James Williams could be day 3 guys who fit the narrative of big physical safeties , box safety type, who can help us with TE's and in the run game.

                            Same here.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Of course not. Edmunds was a Va Tech (the Virgina/Maryland myth) guy and we all know from those in the know that is all takes to be a Steeler
