    Rudolph is our quarterback.

I have seen enough. He has beaten a playoff team on the road with its qb1, something Pickett has never done.

He showed good accuracy, the ability to locate and deliver the football to his receivers down the field, the ability to convert the 3rd and short 4th and short by running the football, and did not throw any interceptions going 18-24, 274 yards and was the quarterback of the offense scoring 30 points. He saved some turnovers by fielding in Cole's bad snaps too.
In back to back games he has out produced Pickett's best efforts in 24 starts and brought Pickens to being a top 5 NFL Wide Receiver ( in the past two games ). Steeler fan should expect Pickens to have several 100 yard games and may big plays with Rudolph staring at quarterback.

With the QB switch, the blind man's 3rd choice the offense is rolling! Why Tomlin did not see this is 60+ practices, I can't explain it . The man is an offensive dunce, but he can produce good media quotes. Rudolph's confidence is excellent, he says.

Yes it is, and he showed it, and leadership. With one more win, we could be a dangerous team to play in the playoffs! In case you have noticed we seldom have punted the football with Rudolph at the helm. And Rudolph is easier to protect because he is locates the open man quicker than average, has a quicker the average release, sees the field better due to his 6'5"" stature, and our lineman know where his is going to be.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

MR play today was solid but not special. Our OL won this game for us along with Washington. No penalties to speak of and that kept us out of 2nd or 3rd n longs. They mauled the Hawks. Harris / Warren combo showed they can tote the rock when blockers are getting to the 2nd level.
Only a single sack given up on the road and no real pressure on MR with most of his drop backs. Win the LOS you have a good shot at winning the game. Nice team effort today and a very physical performance.

His play was a bit better the solid. Did he take any sacks he should not have? How many bad throws did he have?

I say his play was about a 8 out of 10. Yes, the offense played well, and scored 30 points. The point is we don't score that may points with only solid type of qb play. This is two games in a row. If we get this type of QB play we are going to be tough to beat.

The weapons are there. We finally have a QB capable of using them to score lots of points and get many yards. Pickett could not. That should be crystal clear.

I'll wait for the official stats to come out but I was surprised by the lack of pressure on Rudolph. Has the OL suddenly learned how to pass block? How is it all these positives have come with a change of QB when the system is supposedly 'college level'?

MR had a good game overall but the story of the game was the OL and running game. 150 yards in one half??? That should be a W every time.

Like last week there was barely any pressure on MR and early in the game some of his passes were not very accurate, Pickens and DJ made some impressive catches. Pickens is ridiculous with how talented he is wow. Overall I was most impressed with Rudolph's calm presence in the pocket but his arm is actually not impressing me even with the nice overall stats.

Yea, the receivers helped him out on a few. And I remember that was a knock Tomlin had on Rudolph. Said at one point that Rudolph needed to "work on his professional accuracy". Fortunately the big time throws to Pickens and DJ were wide open so no danger of a DB crushing them at the catch.

The line played very well true. But it helps when:
              1. The QB is where he is supposed to be
              2. The QB finds his targets quickly and gets rid of the ball
              3. Run blocking is easier when safeties have to prioritize deep coverage over the run because out of fear of deep splash plays.

When the o-line is dominating and both backs are running over 100 yards - Mason didn’t need to be a 400 yard passer. His game was because of the o-line performance, not in spite of it. Let’s see what this week brings. I think he can sling it if necessary.

And Rudolph saved some negative plays with bad snaps that were tough to field that could have spelled doom. The defense did not produce any turnovers or block any punts. He won the game without any turnovers. If Rudolph had to throw it 10 more times, he has 300+ yards easy.

We really need to replace Cole. And the expensive Daniels.

Bottom line, when Rudolph plays this way as he has for two games starting, the Steelers are a tough team to beat...for any NFL team.

Yeah we have some weak points.

I noticed the bad snaps too. Mason handled them so well we forget how disastrous they could have been.

This is just it. Mason is a competent QB. Something that the other QBs on the roster haven't been.

His 274 yards aren't much. And the game wasn't spectacular.

But this OK performance from Mason is basically the same as Kenny's highest yardage game of the year (278, 0 TD, 0 INT against Cincy). Which is also probably Kenny's career best game in 24 starts.

This is less about Mason being good (although he has been at least average in 2 games IMO). It's more about Kenny (and Mitch) not being good.

the question is you , I and most of the free world see's it as Mason being the better player for this team ...... BUT does Mike Tomlin ? not so sure as I believe Kenny was Tomlins guy not Colberts guy and he is slow to move away from those whom he is attached ( See Canada)

Yes it is. Cole is as good as gone next year. Not to take any for the point if this thread. We have a quarterback!
