Apparently 3/5 of the OL got the day off, along with other vets, so only newbies were punished with this high school motivational technique.

He was laying into the o-line on the sideline during the Texans game, and the run game did seem to start to improving. But playing and practicing harder didn't and won't overcome the root of the problem. We have to get a WHOLE lot smarter. We're the dumbest offense in the league right now.

That's my biggest fear, the organization thinks we just need to line up and beat the guy across from them and scheme is irrelevant. The one game vs. the Raiders where we almost looked like an NFL offense was apparently a mirage.

I would imagine that It's hard to stay fresh (and motivated) as a defense when the offense keeps going 3 and out. This offense has one of the shortest time of possession in the league.

Did you know that teams that win the TOP battle win 67% of games? There's definitely a cause/effect thing happening and people are missing it.

I read that some ridiculous percentage of our drives end in less than 2 minutes. Do that for a few series and those guys are going to be tired for the rest of the game.

I’m also thinking that seeing Tomlin runs this defense, is hard to blame them for your coaching.
Easier to blame the offense that you aren’t as responsible for.

My recommendation would be to wipe the Houston game from your memory because the Steelers were coming off a trip back from the West Coast following a short work week and had their flight diverted on their way home. They then looked past the Texans because they had this game against the Ravens on the horizon.

Instead they flew cross country, complications on the way, flew back to Houston and laid a royal egg. They are not a good team, but I wouldn't say they are one of the worst either.
