"You were looking for KP to find the checkdown"? What if the check down had to pass protect because of a blitz? What if the check down missed the blitz? Sometimes there is not a "check down." The QB should know the offense based on the plays that he discussed with the OC......

I don't claim to know the inner workings of the Steelers offense. I am not an offensive play designer or play calling expert. I will leave the "inner workings of offenses and defenses" to you guys.

I can say that if I had a "young" or "new" offensive or defensive team then I would attempt to make this as simple as possible for the players to have success.

Player execution is what win games is my final assessment.
I know you are big on execution. And yes it plays a part but you have to factor in why the players are not executing. Asking a center to block with a zone reach when you know he is weak at it is only setting him up for failure. Asking a slow footed ILB to cover a speedy WR is only setting them up for failure more often than not. So you have to understand WHY the players are not executing and come up with something then CAN execute at a high level.

Exactly. Canada DID do some things we've all been asking for last night and it paid dividends. Still a lot to clean up but it's a stepping stone. The Steelers looked like a legit NFL offense for much of last night.

Legit NFL Offense?!? I think that is a little much. That is like saying the United States has a "Legit" secure southern border.

Our O-Line is pathetic and the play-calling is highly predictable. The only thing legitimate on this team is the Defense.

If you watch the team align under center and see 8 in the box, you cannot expect your 5 linemen to block all 8 guys. That's not on execution.

It'd be really nice on that pre-snap alignment if the QB had an audible because all 22 men on that field know that run isn't going to work.

As a side note, if you're the RB in that situation, ya just might hesitate before hitting the LOS because you're trying to figure where a hole might be...

Reminds me of all the fans who hated on Spillane for not being able to cover Keenan Allen.

If they don't give Kenny permission to audible he needs to develop hand signals with the WRs and do it on his own.

Despite Spillane playing the entire game for LVR the Steelers only targeted him once (or maybe the Raiders kept him out of coverage?).

but they thought he was good in coverage - they often brought him in last year on passing downs.

Matt Canada said this. Even better. Fire his ass.

Tomlin told CBS his offense isn't built to comeback from down big leads. What the F kind of comment is that? That's quite the admission that your offense sucks.

This is the offense Tomlin wanted to build. It only works when the run game works.

                        They're stuck in the 1980s.

The most they would do is promote from within. Doubt much would change until the offseason.
