If your answer is 'no', then what you say is insane.

Despite what Tomlin and his jock sniffers have you believe, the goal of this (or any) franchise is/should not be mediocrity. I personally would rather have 2-3 down years, if it means having a legit shot for the next 10-15 years after (like when we were able to draft Ben).

Why people would rather go 9-7 every year is beyond me.
Getting a higher pick doesn't equate to building a better team. Ask the Lions, Browns & Jets who pick high every year. If you wanna lose on purpose you are a loser & will always be a losing team .

Co-signed. I suppose people would have preferred 8-8 in 2003 and drafting a guard instead of Ben.

Well, you either build a team through the draft, trades, and/or free agency. If you know another way let us know.

We don't sign high impact free agents. Trades in the NFL are pretty uncommon. So that leaves the draft, and yes typically you'll find better players at the top of the draft.

Nobody's losing on purpose. That's just a stupid statement. Almost as stupid as wanting to go 9-8 every year.

I bet the Bengals are regretting those wasted high picks on Burrow, Chase, etc

Crazy stat, KP has more passing yards than the following QBs through two weeks - Lamar Jackson, Burrow, Prescott, Watson and Purdy.

nah. Mason panics with pressure. He would have thrown 5 picks last night

Honestly, the difference is where your hole is on the team.

If I need a QB and it's a good QB class, I want a piece of that pie so give me 2-14 for a season.
But if the hole is something i can get with the 16th pick, I don't want to suffer through 2-14

We might catch a break playing the Raiders this week. We will be playing a bad team so Pickett seems to do okay against bad teams. Like last year.

Yeah I was surprised and that's playing under the worst OC/system in the NFL and against two really good defenses.

As many of us said going into his draft, his ceiling is Derek Carr/Kirk Cousin and he isn't close to that ceiling.

Another likely unpopular statement...its not just Canada! KP is leaving plays on the field that he should make if he is an elite QB. Can't give KP anymore passes and blame everyone and everything else. If KP is "the guy" versus "a Guy" he needs to show he can lift the team.

I remain hopeful because we have to. We aren't going to be in a position to draft a top QB anytime soon unless we get lucky like the 49ers and find a Purdy
Strongly disagree. I think a JAG is someone you can win with, you can lose with, but he definitely will not lead you to the win. As of right now, Pickett is not even at that level this year. He is missing throws that should be made, he is making bad decisions, he has regressed. I thought he showed enough last year to warrant a further look. The season is still young, and he still only has less than one season worth of starts under his belt, but if he does not turn his play around then that chance to continue will be taken away and the FO will have to look for the replacement.

He has missed many open throws in two games this year. Throws that would have driven the team down field, throws that would have prevented being behind the chains or forced to punt. More importantly, hitting some throws will cause the D to back off the line, open up the run game, open up the playbook.Hit a couple of plays early next game and this O will not resemble the mess that it is now. Continue to miss those throws and look for three draft picks (including the 2024 first) to be used to move up to draft a QB next year.

Trubisky will drive the team into opposition territory and then throw a pick, likely in the red zone. Pickett is throwing the pick in his own territory. That's an upgrade.

It appears that Pickett is playing scared. He lacks swagger and confidence. Perhaps he has to throw where he is told to. Is this possible? Canada is managing his choices before he makes them. I don't know but Pickett is not playing wild and free( aka , Big Ben).

I am predicting that if we can't get this offense figured out by the bye, Art II will sh*tcan Canada and go with whoever. He will not let this uncertainty over Pickett run through this whole season.
