    Chase Young anyone?

I have no idea where supposedly reputable sources get their odds and info.

How/why would Pgh be in the Chase Young pursuit? Word is he wants max $s. That's so not Pgh style. Only if he "falls in love" with the thought of being a Steeler and would do it at a discount rate would this have a prayer of happening, which ain't too likely.

That seems silly to go after a guy who you haven't even seen in our system... I'd rather just pay HIghsmith what he's due - he has produced at a high level IN the system...

    DeVille's final Mock
1.20 - Tailiese Fuaga, OT, Oregon St
    2.51 - Zach Frazier, C, WVU
3.84 - Luke Mccaffery, WR, Rice
3.98 - Andru Phillips, CB, Kentucky
4.117 - Maason Smith, DT, LSU
6.178 - Travis Glover, OT, Ga State
6.195 - Dillon Johnson, RB, Washington

Hasn’t he been hurt and underwhelming lately?

For max money? Probably cost more than Highsmith and is less reliable.

      No thanks

Yea, I have no idea where Young would even play...DE? Doesn't really fit our system. Not the old 3-4 any how.

he's probably got the athleticism to go to OLB - more than Leal, anyway

But it would be a "stretch/process" to get him to OLB. Not worth top $. Hasn't he played DE his entire career?

His career has somewhat mimicked Bush's. Absolute stud his rookie season. Edge rusher, run stopper, and dropped back in coverage effortlessly.

But plagued with multiple injuries including an ACL. Skins declined the 5th year option. Young's physical prowess is insane and he's only 24. I'd take a flyer in a heartbeat depending on the price.

DE not OLB for us. Upgrade over Leal and Ogunjobi.

Horrid idea for us, not even close to a fit.

Bush was not an "absolute stud" at any point of his college or pro career. Young was and still is. The injury is a concern, but he's legit.

                  He's also not a 3-4 DE at 6'5" 265 lbs, he's an edge rusher.

nah.. Bushes rookie numbers were impressive.

                    15 starts
                    109 combines tackles
                    72 solo tackles
                    2 INT?s
                    1 Forced fumble
                    4 Fumble recoveries
                    9 Tackles for loss

                    impressive for a rookie.

Young was a beast his rookie year but he was been meh since, mostly because he can?t stay on the field.

He did have a good rookie year, I'll concede that. But since the ACL tear, he's been a shadow of that player. Not anywhere near that beast.

yup.. which is why most people only use his first year as proof he wasn’t a bust day 1. That injury took away his whole game.

They are still pretending to be of serious interest? According to this he would play strictly OLB. As if they can afford him, as if they should want to. This is nonsense.

Hopefully this is a big nothing burger. Don't want to waste the draft capital it would take. And would rather spend the $$$ on something else
