Especially Balt.'s owner, which is paramount in this case, obviously. I stated this all along. I knew Steve was NOT onboard with the fully guaranteed deal, he expressed it as soon as Watson's deal was made.

yeah.. that is about what I expected for Lamar and I think someone will bite
          eventually.

I think based on contracts he isn’t wrong to want more than Watson guaranteed over the life of his contract but that would mean signing 6 or 7 contract or even a 10 year contracr like Mahomes.

Personally I would settle for anything $200 or above in regards to guaranteed money if I was Lamar. I think that is fair.

sounds to me like he's going to get a contract with some roster bonuses down the line that he'll never see, in an effort to call it "guaranteed"

and somehow, i knew D.Watson's contract was the target to beat...

it should be. That is exactly how any agent would approach an NFL team if they were Lamar’s agent.

I think I've been pretty consistent over the years siding with players in their contract fights. Short windows to make money and it's always tougher to get those who are holding the cash to give it up. Having said that, I think most if not all of the NFL regard the browns organization as foolishly run, amateur hour with a revolving door at HC and QB and perennially in desperation mode. It would be stupid to let a stupid run organization making stupid contracts set the new standard. That's why I think Lamar is struggling to beat DW's numbers.

Most teams are not as stupid as the browns - though some try really hard.

I would think an agent would point out to him that watson had refused a trade to the browns at first.

the only way he accepted a trade to them was this incentive of a guaranteed contract.
i wonder if lamaar even knows that

Lamar should be approaching the Ravens and comparing his value to DW. And the Baltimore FO should be responding with "we are not going conduct our business like the most dysfunctional franchise in the league".

This. And I said it as soon as Watson inked his deal with the Clowns. That absurd deal does NOT have to be the new bar for QB contracts. It's only the new bar if some team is stupid enough to pay it. Just don't do it. The Rats seem clear they don't intend to. So Lamar is open to hope some other team does.

If I was an owner, there's no way in hades I would guarantee that much money to a player who relies mostly on his legs and hasn't completed the past two seasons. I'm not even sure I'd guarantee that much money to Mahomes. You're screwed if he has a major injury.

I don't think anyone is denying his skill set - but if he thinks a team will spend 25-30% of their cap on him, particularly when they look at his availability the last few years in Dec/Jan, well - I would be surprised if someone bites on that. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen - but I think he's in for a rude awakening.

Jackson's real value is MUCH lower that he thinks it is. He thinks he is a top 10 QB young QB. Those guys do not take long to get paid, do they? He is what he is, A running QB with a lot of hits on him. His body is already betraying him as he missed 10 games in two seasons.

As a passer he is way below par and IMO would struggle more in team without a good defense, good OL, good kicking, and IMO a good and very patient coach.

The Ravens did not put him too bad may situations in general and FOUR of his Five seasons he has just three 4th quarter comebacks at quarterback, a very low number!

As a passer he competed 62.3% of his passes. Another low number compared to his peers. He is a me first team 15th type of guy who could have played in the playoffs for his team but opted not to.

He may find himself with no team interested at his price. Then the selfish man might sit out the year, and pull a L. Bell type of move. Let him, he will find his real value is that of used up running back. Either that or go back on what he said, which at this point I doubt he can. He should have an agent talking for him, but like I said he is a my way or highway type of guy.

His behavior will not shock me if he has off the field problems. He hangs out with fellow South Florida QB Antonio Brown. A man is defined partially by the company he keeps.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

a low number of 4th quarter comebacks and a 74% winning percentage.

Do the math dude.. lol. If a team wins 74% of its games more times than not they are playing with a lead.

4th quarter comebacks are tricky. While its a nice stat to show grit and the will to win, it also means if you have a lot of them, its because you are often trailing.

$48m per, injury guaranteed money and still no agreement.
