Good depth signing and probably cheap. Wasn't targeted a ton but a 35% Completion% against and 3.1 yds/comp is solid

Pierre will probably be a starter again.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

              TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

JP had good numbers and unlike say Bush the Steelers want him back. He is a valuable sub package player.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

                      not to mention a starter.

I have nothing against the guy. He occasionally makes a play and has been solid depth, although I am not sure I would trust him to start just yet. They know who he is and he was cheap, so it was a good signing.

But I don't think it is a one to one comparison to Bush. Bush was a former No. 1 and Pierre was signed as a FA. If Bush would have accepted a cheap one year deal to serve as IL depth, I think that would have been a good move also. He would probably be higher quality depth than Pierre. Maybe a higher quality starter than Pierre also, but neither would be a good quality starter.

I never wrote that he is the sure starter at CB. Please show me where I said that, and stop with the clown like threads indictating that I did. Pierre is a good sub package player in short man or zone, but should not be left 1 on 1 covering a speedy WR, especially deep coverage. He is easily burned in this type of coverege.

                            Yep.

Good depth. Maybe can start in a pinch.

Yep. And probably a good value. Likely no real cap hit after displacement (i.e. likely making the minimum).

And you never know. Some guys are late bloomers.
