Do we really need to spend a high draft pick on receiver?

yeah.. last 2 first round picks I have been dead on.

and this year IF Addison is there at 17 we will select him. He won’t but if he falls to 17 we run to the podium.

maybe this is why some of the draft gurus have been a bit aggressive with their KP analysis? When someone gets the first pick right, certain people get b!tchy.

      4.5 ??

at his size, if he doesn’t run sub 4.5 he’ll be lucky to go in the 3rd round

Maybe he can go the Najee route and not run. Then everyone will just think Kenny's number is correct.

I've noticed Duncan as an option, and have seen a couple of positive scouting reports on him. He should fit right in with the 8 other Steeler players from his alma mater.

1)17 Pittsburgh Steelers: Jaelyn Duncan, OT, Maryland

Kenny Pickett has enjoyed some bright moments in his rookie season. It would really help him if he had a franchise left tackle to protect his blind side.

Jaelyn Duncan is a team captain who showed some solid athleticism.

The Jordan Addison fever is way too strong. Taking a slot receiver at 17? He's not a No. 1 receiver. He's not physically strong. He's not going to win 50-50 balls at a great win rate. I think his speed is high 4.4s. He is definitely not a 4.2 speedster. I think it would be a Huge mistake to take Jordan Addison at 17. Give Austin a chance. Fill another need, If Addison is there in the 3rd, I would jump on him.

Most mocks have him going top 12. There is a reason for that.

How many Belintikoff winners go in the 3rd round?

If you go back through drafts. There is many a player that was mocked high, highly drafted and didn't live up to that status. For whatever reason Addison is the flavor of the month. I think he is being more highly touted than he should be. I don't think he's going to be as great as these people think he will be. So I have a different opinion of Addison. We'll start to find out more about him at the combine and when he finally goes to the NFL.

Troy Edwards and James Washington also won the Belitnikoff award.

The Steelers were generally good at selecting WRs. If they take one he will probably be a good player.

It doesn't hurt to have skill position players in development if possible with adequate starters. I think very few positions are off limits in the draft for the Steelers. Quality depth is always welcomed to teams.

QB, FS, and RB might be the only positions the Steelers won't consider early in the draft.

I don't think we're as good at picking WRs as we get credit for.

                        The AB pick was awesome.

After that, I think it's a fairly mixed bad. We tend to get OK to good WRs, but we pick one in the 2nd round most years (although DJ was a 3rd).

I also think it was easier to pick WRs when we had Ben. Particularly in his prime.

the combine/p workouts will tell the story

if he runs under 4.4, i think he'll go in the 1st round.
under 4.3 i think might put him in the 10-20 range if everything else works out

there are other receivers with similar traits who some are projecting in the 1st too. a little heavier then addison though.
lsu wr, tenn wr, JSN, and downs/flowers who are a tad bit shorter

if nobody picks the TCU kid before our turn, we should run to the podium to draft him

you're right, a lot will depend on the combine results.

as of right now, there's a good chance Quentin Johnston from TCU could be the first WR slected.

i don't see how he isn't unless he runs a really poor 40 time
