Riiiiiight.... and Epstein killed himself..... When Kenny breaks the pocket, it's a scramble drill.... Receivers are coached to make themselves available to a scrambling QB... Sims' pattern went across the back of the endzone... Najee's was along the sideline on the side where KP8 was scrambling... towards the endzone... Sims started on the other side of the field for heaven's sake...

This is why it's hard to be in game day threads. I can't deal with the constant negativity after every play. Sometimes the other guys should get credit for making plays.

It's a stream of consciousness as the game unfolds and if you don't like those swings it's probably not a thread to visit. I actually enjoy the banter.

Reading this thread again is hilarious. The mood swings were serious and the arguing over the intended target has me cracking up.

Personally, I don’t it was ever intended for Sims.

and Kenny didn’t lose communication in his head set, it was loud and he probably was gesturing for the play to be repeated.

Mark Andrews was a beast last night. Even when the Steelers tried cover him with different players and various coverages he made plays. He almost wrecked the game for the Steelers.

Spillane is our top cover ILB. He's a smart film junkie. Robinson IMO is our best natural run defender. He just needs to play a bit more but I like his physicality and speed. A late draft find!

Alex Highsmith is the Steelers top cover LB when in coverage. Spillane's catch rate is 90%. For an ILB it's not horrible, but it's not good.

Glad Robinson played well. Spillane too.

My guess is that both those guys will be good against run heavy teams that have trouble passing

We won! Just barely though vs a punchless Ravens team. I noticed Robinson was on the field with the starters form the opening ( but was not announced ) and produced just fine producing 7 total tackles. I like him, he's a keeper and finds the ball carrier and attacks his gap very well. Spillane appears to have taken his game to the next level. I saw Warren getting more involved ( I say he should start as he a better big play back and cacher ) and Leal getting in the mix.

Its like the coaches finally got it.

Bush has been all but removed form the action.

On Pickett he can drive the offense for many scores and expect for the game winning drive was nothing but a safe short passing Qb! What did he throw for? Just 168 yards. But this works when the ground game is working and the defense is balling. Won't work vs an offense that has a QB and can score.

Canada took a page right out of Whisenhunt's gameplans in Roethlisberger's rookie season.... 100+ yards rushing, limit pass attempts <30.

Yea, the Bush era is over... I like Robinson demeanor on run defense, fears no contact.

I don't think the play was designed to have 2 receivers in the same area. Najee's route was simply a flare as the last option but when he saw Pickett scramble he went into scramble mode and went upfield. I doubt he was thinking about the play and where Sims was going to be. He was trying to become available for his quarterback and Pickett threw a strike. The fact that Sims was there was coincidental, imo.

Again, you can clearly see KP looking at Najee before he throws the ball to him from the reverse camera angle. He definitely was not throwing to Sims. KP made some pretty incredible throws tonight, fans should be excited.
