It's about disguising formations, example being bunch and some pre-snap movement, to make the defense guess at what you're about to do. It doesn't take a genius to read the many articles online pertaining to what guys like McVay did when taking over in terms of route combinations, or what McDaniel is doing now with his multiple formation attack in Miami.

This really needs to be explained?

guess what they are about to do?

Higgins is big as hell, no one has to guess what was going to happen or where he is before the snap.

        Just cover the damn guy

          Some fans will never understand.

Tee Higgins didn’t need much time to dominate the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday. On the surface, the numbers look bad enough, with Higgins putting up nine catches for 148 yards. But he did all his damage across two quarters, seeing all his targets and receptions in the second and third frames of this game. Pittsburgh had […]

I like how every catch has almost the same description.

“Higgins used his big frame to shield the defender from the ball”

Yeah.. they moved him around but its not like our DB’s couldn’t find him. They just couldn’t defend him because dude is big as hell.

You are confusing him with CLAYPOOL Dizz.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

              TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Let's play a game. Complete the following sentence

"Claypool used his big frame to..."

Our only hope is that eventually Tomlin will get tired of defending Canada in his pressers. Honestly, the media needs to keep pressing on this. In today's presser he seemed to want to talk about everything but the offense....Turkeybowl, etc...

(or maybe it's Tomlin defending himself?!)

Example of how he uses his massive frame and giant mitts to attack passes.

IMO you don't throw your fellow coaches or players under the bus to the media or the fans. There is a time and place to handle everything. It's usually behind the scenes.

If you were "dressed down" by your superior in front of coworkers or the world then how would you react?

The could defend him to an extent. The couldn't defend the accurate passes that Burrow threw. Accurate passes are hard to defend.

That is why accuracy is the most important "skill" of the best quarterbacks.

Yeah I get it. Brady didn't have the biggest arm. What Brady had was the ability to make quick decisions and get the ball to WR's accurately.

Defenses clamp down on the short passes, Brady would make defenses pay with intermediate or long passes depending on the weapons he had. The same can be said for every great QB that played in the NFL.

The best way to defeat great QB's is for a defense to work well together as a unit. Pressure combined with coverage nails makes it hard on any QB.

It's easy to draw up the concepts on the blackboard. It's more difficult for the players to execute as ONE unit.
