Can we stop comparing Pickett to Mahomes or Ben?

You suggested Noll, BB, and Lombardi somehow were a counter to "my" point. Nothing to do with positions played.
Grimms "coaching" experience was limited to teaching fat men to block.
Your bringing up Noll and BB ACTUALLY shows a common trait with Tomlin.
They all were successful coaching units WITHOUT 1st hand experience PLAYING those positions. All three played offense but coached defense.
That shows an aptitude for teaching that goes beyond the limits of what you did as a player. It shows an understanding of the game and nuances of different positions.
Thank you for reminding me that two of the most successful coaches in history were offensive players who coached defense... JUST LIKE TOMLIN.Last edited by Captain Lemming; 11-21-2022, 11:20 AM.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Of course, if you have the opportunity to draft a guy who you think is better before then you have to at least think about it. The other alternative (if Pickett isn't developing) is to take a bunch of shots on day 2 and hope you find a Wilson or Dak. You may need to do that once or twice anyway to keep the QB room full.Comment

NJ-STEELER... still lacking nuance.
Either someone is worthy of near godlike devotion (Ben) or he is absolutely trash (Tomlin).
Nothing in between.
All I just suggested is that Tomlin had credentials worthy of his hire...something you said he does not have. Yet you defend the hire of coaches with lesser credentials.
Try this:
Look up my name and Tomlin as well as "great".
Tell me how often I have posted both the words Tomlin and great without the word "not" or "never said" in the same post.
I would suggest there is a great range between the two extremes you seem to think are the only possible options.Last edited by Captain Lemming; 11-21-2022, 12:21 PM.sigpic

The same people who prop up all the great coaches with all this experience are now defending an interim coach with ZERO experience.
