Who did you see something special and feel better about becoming a star...Ben? Kenny?
At this point of their careers...

Obviously Ben, but he also had a much better supporting cast and coaching staff. I wonder how Ben would have looked with this OL, WRs, Matt Canada, and throwing 45 times a game.
Is this some kind of indicator in your mind that Kenny will never make it, because this is a fairly rhetorical question. -
I hope KP comes into his 2nd season and lights the NFL fire similar to the way Marion or Mahommes did in their 2nd seasons. All the questions will go away if he does.Comment

Ben for sure. He had a different level of 'it' factor to him. It was clear that he was different pretty early on in his career. Even in 2004, it was like if Ben had the ball and he needed to take it down the field to close out a game, it was almost a given that he was going to do it.Comment

Zero question it was Ben. I was all about the guy when he was drafted and remember telling my buddy the Steelers will win multiple Super Bowls with him. Once he took the field, it was obvious he had the goods-despite any rookie mistakes.
I do not get that same sense from Pickett. I like his moxie, accuracy, and athleticism so far, but I'm not convinced he's THAT guy. He hasn't even shown me enough yet to make me think he can be THAT guy. I haven't noticed a lot of progression in his game yet either. But he's got 8 more games to change that arc and show us that he's got what it takes. If we see that improvement from where he's at now to the end of the season, then we can feel good going into next season. If we are not seeing any significant progress by the end of the year, then my guess is that we won't ever see it.sigpic

Yea, like I said, he started playing his 1st year, week 16. MKIA didn't know it all, after all.

Ben had one of the best rookie years in the history of the game. But he also had a STACKED team around him. Don't get it twisted. He showed he was legit with clutch 4th quarter wins. It was obvious he was special.
This is why I was really rooting for Kenny to get that Miami game. Would have changed the narrative a bit. I still think Kenny is going to be fine. I don't think Ben would be undefeated with this roster his rookie year. He would've won the Miami game and Jets game though.Steelers 27
