This is something I've been watching with Pickett. His % passing from the pocket has risen since his first start. It's now within a whisper of the top QBs.
The mobile QB's are getting hurt ( Murray and Jackson ) and Young is a small 5'11 ( let him measure up at the pro day ) 190 pound man. I doubt Chicago is taking a QB. Houston though might. The shelf life of a running QB is about 5 years. After that they tend to drop off play wise or miss a season due to injury or off the field stuff.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Yep. It's why Purdy lasted to the 7th round, too small to be a long term answer even with a stellar OL. Every team wants the Roethlisberger/Allen/Hurts at QB. At best most teams end up with an LJ, Murray, Fields.

I'm not counting Fields out yet. He's big and strong and really needs some weapons and a better OL. Credit to him for making plays with his legs but I think he will be a better on schedule QB the more help they get him.
