This. If they fix the OL and get one more weapon and a real OC, though, it doesn't have to be a ho-hum 2023.

Keep seeing a lot of talk about how the Steelers need help along the OL.

While they do, that need for help does not outweigh the massive need for a shutdown CB, one that Pittsburgh must find quickly — like this offseason.

This is a strange place that the Pittsburgh Steelers are in. Sitting at 3-7 on the season, there’s not much hope that remains for a second-half rebound and a push to the playoffs. The Steelers are still technically alive in the AFC playoff picture though, as silly as that might sound, which has some fans […]

CB is a big need but the deciding factor is the Steelers spotty record to identify quality DBs in the draft. OL is a much easier position to project success. So LT gets the nod.
The Steelers can look for a CB in FA, but need to be prepared to pay premium dollars for a premium player.

What about the guy you loved, layne?
Isn’t he ready to step in and be the stud you predicted?
          Lol
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

That’s what I’ve been saying NC but people get upset about that. Sometimes the truth isn’t what most want to hear. But it is what it is.

Layne was his guy too. He said Layne was going to be Tomlin’s best cornerback drafted. Another wrong prediction as usual.

I dare you to post a link where I predicted that.

you can't, because I never did.

stop your lying, which I realize is difficult to do for a pathological liar like you.

I approached last off-season saying this exact same thing, even made a list of needs and gave some options as to how to address. As true as it is though, there are a couple of reasons to be hopeful that it can be a quicker turnaround:

                    1) Can upgrade through FA as well, and there is money to be found on this salary cap.
                    2) You don't need to fill every need in order to become competitive. All teams, including champions, have flaws.

This is true. We need more picks! Suppose we trade say the 5th overall pick? We can we get for it? Another teams first, third, and next years first? IMO Khan, who I hope is very bright should so it.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Obviously, bro Joel. Since 2022 became the official Steelers Death March Season I'm much less involved with Planet Steelers and Artie's Tsouris [having an actual real life is another reason, y'all .] Still, what they do isn't in my hands so "The Worse The Better" per 2023 Draft Picks.

Hadn't realized QB Caleb Johnson has another USC season to go so maybe they'll actually draft for Steeler NEEDS and not to satisfy Coach C+'s Self Promotion skills....

Im great with that. I think, despite out struggles, pickett is our guy. The way its looking now, we will have 3 picks inside the top 40. Im fine with trading out of the 5th pick to acquire more picks

I am the approaching the point ( when we officially out of the playoffs ) were we need a complete re-set, I'm talking coaching and many players who start. Pickett has the rest of the season to prove to me he is the answer. I wish the media would ask him questions such as why do you seldom throw the ball beyond the 1st down marker except when its 3rd down? Why don't they? His travel distance on completed passes it very short. And too many if his passes that are short are broken up...IE...I think he does not have a strong arm. Or even an average on by the standards of NFL starting QB's.

Is it the coaching or the players? Or the truth, it's both.

Working it so we get an extra pick or two would be a breath of fresh air. It's early to discuss such things but if we had a top 10 pick , say 7, and a qb was on the board I could see us getting some serious offer to drop even only a few spots. I would have no problem picking 10th or 11th n now having three (3) 2nd rounders and perhaps a sweetener too.
As correctly stated we have more needs then we'll be able to fill with just a single draft.

But what if we drop to pick 10 and draft a Devin Bush? Or we get an extra 1 and draft another Edmunds.

What do any picks matter if we’re gonna reach and make all the wrong picks anyway????
