Realistically....what can we get for AB?

You have the luxury of 20/20 hindsight.
Tomlin's approach worked up until last season. Where were the complaints about players in years 1 to 8?
Clearly he will need to make some changes to what he does but to all of a sudden say he isn't a leader is wrong.
And you are making the assumption that AB's behavior might be different should Tomlin done things differently. There's just no way to know that. Even Bettis admitted not all players would respond positively to this approach.
as far as AB is concerned, we would both be speculating if we stated for certain how he would react to a certain type of leadership style... Perhaps he wouldn't have lashed out if Tomlin would had told Ben to shut the hell up when Ben supposedly told the Coaches to "Get AB out of here" after running the wrong route in practice.
One thing's for sure... you'll never get 100 percent desired results.. regardless of what leadership style is utilized.Leave a comment:

Bettis chimed in on radio this AM; Steelers and AB need to work it out for the benefit of both. Believes that Tomlin can make it work by setting up a strict set of guidelines prior to the season starting. Act out on social media? get fined. Don't show up for practice? suspended for a game without pay. Sit out preseason? take away paychecks.
his pay should have been docked for week 17Leave a comment:

The other thing to consider is that should the Steelers decide to trade AB, the signing team may have the real possibility that AB will immediately demand a renegotiation of his contract. With that possibility, no wonder teams might think twice before taking on that headache that has an uncertain outcome.Leave a comment:

I would love to keep AB, but it is going to take a miracle to make it work with the approval of us the fans.
What I mean by approval, need AB to stop his BS ego no one respects him.
Public apology to his team, and us.
To make it work out that Tomlin is not his *itch
Discipline by Rooney.
And a media twist that makes the Steelers of old and not punked down by one great player.
AS I AM TYPING THIS, I JUST DON'T SEE IT, HE TARNISHED HIS LOYALTY TO THE BLACK AND GOLD. HE WOULD NEVER BE FORGIVEN BY US, AND WILL BE A LOCKER DISTRACTION TILL HE LEAVES/ RETIRE AS STEELER.
Some team would give us a first rounder for sure...Leave a comment:

Say we trade AB for Adams, Let's play GM...
We trade AB for Adams, now at no.20 in the draft, you go for ILB, CB, or WR...
Say we go WR, now you pick up 2 of the following in FA...Mosely, Barr, Darby, K.J.Wright, Barr, Preston Smith etc.
If we go ILB or CB...Now you take one of the aforementioned players plus, one of the others you don't draft...ex: you take ILB in draft, you take CB in FA, you go CB in draft, ILB in FA...
Also, if you go this route, now you add a Golden Tate, Tyrell Williams, John Brown type in FA also...
This one trade creates a myriad of moves...Makes you a lil stronger in some areas, lil weaker in others...But not a epic falloff imo...just a whole different team...
Thoughts?
If the Brown situation is salvageable then I'd do anything to keep him.
If he's a complete cancer then it's time to move on and start a new regime in which DEFENSE is the Killers Bs.Leave a comment:

I don't think the Steelers are pretending, I think they are prepared to keep Brown if they can't get the offer they want.Leave a comment:

But the more crap that he keeps putting on social media and the more stuff that comes out about his past behavior, not sure that the aforementioned tactic will workLeave a comment:

I hope we can get a first-round pick for AB... but we dumped Santonio Holmes for a 5th round choice, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Brown gets shipped for a 2nd rounder.Leave a comment:
