The on-campus workouts are completed and the in-house visits have started en massed for NFL teams and college prospects.

Last week, it began with Miami safety Deon Bush, Duke safety Jeremy Cash, Georgia Tech corner D.J. White and LSU offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins.

Others who have already visited or have let it become known that they will visit the team are Auburn cornerback Jonathan Jones, Alabama defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson, North Carolina Central cornerback Ryan Smith, Boise State safety Darian Thompson and Temple cornerback Tavon Young.

Robinson, a sure first-round pick, headlined Tuesday’s visits.

Are you sensing a trend? The Steelers obviously are looking long and hard at defensive backfield prospects, with an eye to possible value picks - Robinson - in the first round.

Of course, the team also has met with a number of prospects at the combine or pro days as well, with that list leaning heavily toward the secondary.

It includes Clemson corner Mackensie Alexander, Houston corner William Jackson, Colorado State defensive back DeAndre Elliott, Clemson safety Jayron Kearse, SE Louisiana corner Harlan Miller and Florida safety Keanu Neal.

But there are also some surprising meetings, most notably with some quarterbacks, Oregon’s Vernon Adams, Brandon Allen of Arkansas, Cody Kessler of USC and Dak Prescott of Mississippi State among them.

Defensive and offensive linemen also have been a hot ticket.

It’s not a surprise. But it does give you an idea of where the team is leaning.

    • Ramon Foster Tweeted a tongue-in-cheek question to linebacker James Harrison, asking him if he is coming back in 2016. This came after Harrison posted yet another video of his ridiculous workouts in Arizona.

Harrison Tweeted back, “I can’t say for sure, but it’s looking good for the home team!”

That would seem to suggest that Harrison is leaning toward returning this season. If he does, look for him to play a role as more of a down defensive lineman in the nickel package.

Harrison’s six-week training program is set to end April 24, at which time he’ll tell the Steelers what he’s going to do.
