When we had guys like Ike Taylor and Ryan Clark back there, I would prefer sacks, because the pressure won't lead to INT's if your DB's can't catch the freaking ball.

But if ballhawks like Senquez Golson, Gerod Holliman, and Doran Grant prove that they are worthy of the hype at the next level, then maybe regular pressure would be preferable to occassional sacks, since pressured quarterbacks have a tendency to make mistakes throwing the ball, and guys like this can make them pay if they do.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Farrior likes what Butler brings to 'D'

      Teresa Varley
      Steelers.com

Former LB James Farrior thinks the Steelers defensive will be aggressive under Keith Butler.

Former Steelers linebacker James Farrior was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and All-Pro under Keith Butler when he was the team’s linebackers coach. Now that Butler is the team's defensive coordinator, Farrior is among those excited about what he is going to bring to the defense.

“He is an aggressive coach,” said Farrior. “Some coaches lay back and let athletes make plays. He is an aggressive coach and they will have some exciting things going on this year.”

Farrior doesn’t anticipate any type of major overhaul on the defense, but definitely thinks that Butler will put his own twist on things.

“I think it’s going to be similar,” said Farrior. “He coached under Dick LeBeau and being around him and the system. It will be similar, but he will add a little spice to it.

“He has been around the team for a long time. He knows the heartbeat of the defense, what the guys like to do. He will make the calls accordingly. They have been around him enough for them to be comfortable with his personality.”

Butler has coached the Steelers linebackers since 2003, after serving in the same role for four seasons in Cleveland. Butler brought playing experience with him when he arrived in Pittsburgh, after a 10 year career with the Seattle Seahawks (1978-87).

“He is a fiery guy, a passionate coach and understands the game well, playing in the league for a long time,” said Farrior. “He understands where the players are coming from and how the players see the game. That helps make him a good coach, he can relate to the players that way.”

that was what all the DL haters said was the problem
          Great draft picks you made.

Now, onto this. I think you will disappointed. With the new rules, I expect lots and lots of zone. And the Steelers did great drafting guys that will fit. And I expect a lot more cover 2. Which will also fit our personnel well.

I personally love how things are shaping up. I have faith. Lots of it.

            Alex Kozora @Alex_Kozora -

The Steelers finished 25th in TFL through 2014. That must change in 2015. My brief study. #Steelers

Wait till these guys try to jump a double move on Steve Smith and look flat footed as he's standing in the endzone. Then tell me how much you love this whole "Jumping Routes" thing. Just because a guy can pick off Tajh Boyd in Rookie Mini camp doesn't mean he's gonna do it in the regular season.
Its not a drill on "jumping routes", he said they were working on reading the qb and breaking on the ball. When you jump a route your reading the wide receiver and when he makes his break you make your break, that's why teams implement the double move. If your working on reading the qb and breaking on the ball the double move should not matter.

which is the same as jumping routes. But thanks for playing. Oh tell guys that have been burned by Ben's pump fake, that jumping the route doesn't matter. And tell Steve Smith that these guys are going to be shutting him down since what he does doesn't matter.

Funny thing is, after the 2014 season I noticed squidkid had like 4 correct picks. I was like wow...great run. But, this year before the draft I looked at his sig, and know it changed after which I find very funny.

not sure what is so funny.
I simply changed my draft to what I would have drafted seeing how the draft actually unfolded

in that case, Golson and James wouldn't have been available in Rounds 3 and 6 since they were selected by the Steelers in Rounds 2 and 5 respectively...

Glad you clarified because when I gave you a pat on the back last year you didn't correct me.

I mentioned last year how it was hypocritical to rip the fans and FO for giving our draft an A+ while having 4 or 5 draft picks in his sig and he ran out of the post and never spoke on it.

                              now I know why...

and on the low I was kind of impressed that he had so many right.

No its not jumping routes, jumping a route means your reading the wide receiver, reading the qb and breaking on the ball when its in the air is not the same as jumping a route. If you jump a route the qb does not matter because you just wait for the route and then you jump it anticipating a throw. Reading the qb and reacting to the ball is totally different.
