    Championship Sunday

One of the best weekends in sports. Two possible Super Bowl rematches possible, one from last year, another from 33 years ago. I really hope the Bills win but I don’t know how anyone wins in KC. I also want the Commanders but unless Hurts is out, I think their magical run ends.

It’s funny, as we all talk about the need for WR, only one team playing today (Philly) has a legit #1 and #2 but they are led by the running of Hurts and Barkley. 68 and 67 catches for Smith and Brown for 1900+ yards, or 100 fewer than Barkley. Hurts has 630 yards rushing. They’re dominant on both lines.

Same with KC, who has even fewer weapons at WR. Xavier Worthy leads the WR room with 59 catches, great numbers if it’s 1977.

Washington has Scary Terry from THE Ohio State University with 82 catches, 13 TDs. After him is household name Olamide Zaccheaus with 45 snags.

Finally the Bills and their 2nd ranked offense, led in WR receptions by Prowler’s boi Khalil Shakir with 76 catches for a paltry 10.8 YPC and 4 TDs, coming in a distant second are two guys with 31 catches each.

Odd that the one team here that the Steelers appear to be possibly patterning themselves after has the best group. Gotta hope the recent attention paid to OL in the draft and free agency pays off next year, now it’s time to rebuild the DL in a DL rich draft.

All of the teams most loaded at the position are watching, some (Miami, Cincy) didn’t even make the playoffs. Championships are still won in the trenches.

I would totally be OK trading Pickens for picks, signing a couple guys in FA, and double dipping at DL in rounds 1 and 2, hopefully using the draft capital gotten for GP. 300 yards rushing in a playoff game should be a wakeup call.

Then get your feature back. That kid from Iowa looks like a Steeler. Where can he be had? He’s a faster Leveon Bell.

A double dip on DL in a draft class rich in DL is just what the doctor ordered. Imagine two studs next to Heyward. Let a rotational guy play to limit Heyward's snaps until the end of the season.

Gah, just listened to the Terrible Podcast, they’re pretty much writing off all the best dominating IDL because “Steeler Football” requires more Loudermilk/Leal types.

I swear, if they F this up.

I think the thing we talk about most is more QB than WR.

But if you don't have a QB, I think getting a WR is the next best thing on offense. Miami is the best example of this I think. And it's not like it's been great for them (although Tua is hurt a lot, so it's kind of hard to tell). SF also seems to support their QB by having many very good to elite skill players (also fell apart this year due to injuries).

I agree that we need to continue to upgrade in the trenches. I think DL is the biggest thing we should fix this year. Sounds like a deep class. I think DL, WR, and CB (outside and slot) are probably our biggest needs? We'll also need a RB but (1) Warren can be the leader in a split backfield and (2) you can get good RBs throughout (and sounds like a deep class).

Going one step further. WR does not seem to be the position of strength for the four remaining teams, and only PHI has a true top 5 (top 1) feature back. Eagles are the only top D, but what do they all have? A mobile QB. If this is a copycat league, what's next? Despite Lamar not being there, does this push guys like Justin Fields or Jalen Milrow up a bit higher?

KC’s D is 4th in PPG, Buf 11th. Guessing Buf gave up a lot of garbage points.

All these teams are aggressive, Wash has already converted two 4th downs on their opening drive. We would have punted on the first one.

When was the last time we played a meaningful game?
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Yet on 4th and 2 after an 18 play drive Wash still opted to settle for the FG.

Yet so many people liked them at the time.

They should have at least hard counted them to jump. Probably would have worked seeing they went for the other times.
