QB Pressures

Wilson was the 4th most pressured QB in the league. Is this a sign of how bad the OL was?

QB Pressure Rates (1) by R W, on Flickr

And before you say he holds the ball too long, NGS says he had the 16th longest average time to throw this season. I take this as meaning the OL was bad.

Interesting enough though, Fields held the ball the 4th longest in the league but was pressured less than Wilson. Was he simply bailing early?

The O-Line was definitely bad.

Wilson's play ticks me off. If his Primay man isn't open he turns in to turtle and gets sacked. Not always his OL's problem.

He does down easily and has limited pocket mobility.

I think he plays like and old QB who will be 37 next year.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

I think it's both.

The OL play was bad.

And I agree with Joel that Wilson seems lost if his primary is covered. Doesn't seem to go through progressions (I'm assuming we have progressions now that Canada is gone).

I think Wilson quickly got to the point, where if his primary was covered, he knew pressure was coming before he could really look at 2 & 3. But he did make some dumb decisions at bad times.

Wilson played better competition but I also think teams sag a bit against Fields because he is a danger if he breaks the pocket.

I don't think we re-sign Wilson.

Could be that the secondary targets were not very good at getting open...

Sean Payton said last season with Wilson at QB 'was misery'....

I don't think Tomlin would label it that way, but I also don't hear him giving Wilson accolades..

Well, he was giving Wilson and himself accolades not long after he made the switch from Fields.

I feel like Tomlin is mostly a smug prick anymore.

maybe it was misery because Wilson refused to take a pay cut when asked in Denver? lol

I think him and tomlin are buddies. I think tomlin knows Wilson is his best shot at .500 and will push to get him signed
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Tomlin always has been but is getting worse.

Payton started complaining about Wilson before he even arrived at his first training camp. It was clear from the start that he didn't want Wilson. I would not take anything he says about having him as QB too seriously.
