The 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback publicly expressed that he wants to be the Steelers starting quarterback in 2025, too. “That’s the plan,” Russell Wilson said from the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Monday. “I love it here and everything else. I think we have a great football team. Obviously,
Throwing to AJ Brown and Smith is different than throwing to Pickens and Jefferson.
Fields had nearly the same passing stats vs Dallas, but 2TDs on the day.
My point wasn't to compare QBs or to say KP is good but rather to show how system, coaching and development has an impact on a QB's play and development. I did look up Fields Cowboys game since you mentioned it and I see that he had almost twice as many passing attempts as KP for 10 less yards, impressive lol. Thank you Smith and Tomlin.
and why wouldn’t he?
easy money and the only expectation is .500
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?
At what price?
I don’t want him back but if he does, 15 million max
At 6 million a year for 1 year. Either player. If not, let them go. If we draft a QB in round one or two of the 2025 draft, let them go.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***
Steelers Rumors: 'There Was Frustration with' Russell Wilson in Final Games of Season

As veteran quarterback Russell Wilson enters free agency this offseason, one expert suggested that the Pittsburgh Steelers aren't very motivated to re-sign him.
Alber Breer of Sports Illustrated reported on Monday that "there was frustration with Wilson down the stretch, so I'm not sure how far the Steelers will be willing to go to keep him."
After missing the first six games of the season, Wilson led Pittsburgh to six wins in his first seven appearances of the year. However, the Steelers stumbled with four straight losses to end the regular season before falling to the Baltimore Ravens in a 28-14 loss in the AFC Wild Card Round on Saturday.
Wilson finished the season with 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions while adding two rushing scores. The 36-year-old should garner some interest on the open market, but it's not clear if teams still view him as a quarterback who could help win a Super Bowl.
As for the Steelers, their quarterback room could look drastically different, as backup quarterback Justin Fields is also headed for free agency. Breer noted that "the team would love to keep working with Fields, but it might not be as a starter," so he could choose to seek an opportunity where he could compete for a starting job.
I'd bring both back, with a succession plan as the ultimate goal. There isn't a QB in the draft I want more than Fields- so for mine, he's your "QB Draft pick".
Wilson is the incumbent until Fields exceeds his play.
It's not exactly a stacked QB class or FA crop. And it wasn't Fields or Wilson unable to stop teams running or short passing the Steelers to death.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?
